We had a fantastic time in your lovely home. It is very centrally located in a quiet and leafy green suburb but buses and trains as well as shops and restaurants were just a few minutes walk away. We really enjoyed the terrace in the back yard and had most of our breakfasts and evening meals there. The ferry terminal to get to Vancouver Island is a 30 minute drive away and it was easy to get onto the main highway to get into the interior of BC from the house. We really appreciated your suggestions about things to do and see and followed most of them. Vanvouver is a big city with lots to offer but really easy to get around whether by car or on foot. We were able to cycle from the house to Stanley Park and Granville Island and managed to catch a performance of Malilda in the "Theatre under the Stars" in Stanley Park. It was a real pleasure to exchange with Colette and Michael! We had the chance to meet the whole family in our house in Paris to exchange keys and tips, they are a lovely and loving family. Their house is very agreeable and with lots of character, very well situated in a lovely and calm area, the back terrace (oriented south) was much appreciated. We didn’t use public transport at all as we did everything with the family bikes (Vancouver is a great city for bikes!) or with the family car. Boo and Bubbles are very affectionate and easy-going cats, it was a pleasure to take care of them, and we really really miss them already! Having been to Canada previously, we knew what to expect and got organised quite easily. Vancouver and its surrounding are a great place for vacation and you’ll definitely find whatever you’re looking for: beaches and lakes, mountains for day hikes (Garibaldi lake and grouse mountain to name just two) or back country, all kind of sports, amazing restaurants (Asian were our favourites), summer camps for children (UBC highly recommended! Thank you Colette!), great shopping in downtown, museums (MOA is quite unique), wild animals watching (1 black bear with 2 cubs during our Juan de Fuca trail, 2 whales on our way back from Victoria) and much much more. Perfect base to visit the awesome Vancouver Island, the breath-taking Canadian Rockies (Lake Louise, Jasper, Banff, etc) or the US (Seattle and the state of Washington are just 3h drive). We had a wonderful home exchange experience! The house had lots of character and charm and was situated in a lovely area, very easily accessible to downtown Vancouver by public transport. There are a huge variety of activities and adventures to enjoy in the Vancouver area and it is an excellent choice as a holiday destination. We felt very at home here during our stay. Thanks again!
