Denali, the tallest mountain in North America, is about a two-hour drive to our South. Fairbanks is located in the Interior of Alaska with roads leading north to the Arctic Circle, east to Canada, and south to Denali and Anchorage. Fairbanks has about 100,000 residents, with long Midnight Sun nights throughout the summer and plenty of snow and the Aurora Borealis throughout the winer. Summer temperatures rarely reach 90 degrees F, and winters tend to dip often to 20 below F. There are hot springs nearby that provide an amazing way to be "outside" at cold temperatures, and there are hundreds of miles of cross-country ski trails. In the summer, the trails become great ways to hike and explore Interior Alaska. Moose are wild and roam freely throughout the Interior, sometimes walking right through our neighborhoods.
