It was a very comfortable, warm (it was winter) and relaxing home, and it was a pleasant walk to the supermarket.

Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
We live in a very beautiful part of North Wales, designated as an area of 'outstanding natural beauty'
Holywell is a historic village called "The Lourdes" of Wales because of the supposed healing powers of the "holy well" of Saint Winifriede and is still visited by many pilgrims. The town centre of Holywell is only 200metres away from our house and yet the house is private and set in over a hectare of grounds The town has 2 supermarkets many shops and a weekly market The towns sports centre (200m) has an olympic size pool hot tubs jacuzzi fitness gym swing park snooker, pool tables, tennis courts, bowling greens etc Local restaurants include Chinese Indian and several pubs all within walking distance. From virtually all points in Holywell we have spectaculsr views of the Irish sea and the estuary of the River Dee.
We are close to the world renowned Snowdonia national park and its mountains. The drive to Snowdonia passes through the wild Denbigh moors and Lake Brennig with boats to hire and lake fishing for trout
At 30 km west we have the preserved Victorian town of Llandudno with its many typically English seaside tourist attractions a beautiful promenade and fully restored pier, chair lift to the summit of the great Orme Monorail and dry ski slopes.
The historic Roman city of Chester is 20 minutes drive away, a walk around the circular Roman walls will show all facets of the cities history From the walls you can see the famous racecourse the "Roodee", the famous clock, tudor oak framed shops and the Cathedral. From the river front you can hire rowing or power boats, take a ferry and head upstream towards Lord Grosvenors Estate (richest man in the UK) or simply take a riverside coffee or pub meal. Within the cities walls a fully preseved Roman ampitheatre which can be seen next to the beatiful cty parks Chester has many restaurants and shops and is the second most visited city after London.
Liverpool is 40 minutes drive away across the beautiful Wirral peninsula One can visit the "The Beatles story " in historic Albert dock. Liverpool Football Club and its trophy room at Anfield which is open to tourists from all over the world. Walker Art gallery hold many world class classic paintings and sculptures, and again in the Albert dock we have the Tate with its collections of modern art. The Royal Philharmonic Hall hosts many concerts and films from the classical composers to modern and popular music.
The Isle of Angleysey rooted in Druidic history has some of most fantasic scenery any where in the world Menai Straits, Telfords bridge, Llandwyn Island Newborough beach, Beaumaris and its classic castle vying with Caernarfon castle as representing the most beautiful 12 century castle in Wales. The Island is a fishing mecca with sea bass and mackerell from many marks, rods and reels and maps will be left if you are interested. From Holyhead boats to Dublin can be taken across the Irish sea.
From the front of the house two horses graze, panoramic private views of the beautiful Welsh hills are available from the patio, lounge and front windows.
Local Airports are Liverpool and Manchester (both 45 mins by car) and carry budget airlines Easyjet etc and international carriers Singapore Airlines etc.
We are retired so our dates, durations and destinations are flexible.
