We are a retired, professional, active, couple from the UK who enjoy travelling and meeting people. We have completed six exchanges,and have also house sat many times both in the UK and NZ for people with animals.
We are very reliable, friendly, responsible, honest and tidy non-smokers. Dee and I were both Headteachers before we retired, so were subject to regular police checks. We are also very practical people and able to deal with all sorts of household problems that might occur. After Paul retired as a Headteacher he worked as a caretaker in the local school for 4 years, to keep busy before Dee retired, so security and 'taking care' doing maintenance and cleaning were top priorities. In the UK we have a lovely garden with flowers, vegetables and lawns so would be happy to do any garden maintenance needed.
Our house in the UK is clean, tidy and well maintained, we will treat your house in the same way and would be certain of the same consideration from you.

Our house is set in the country with views over fields but under 10 minutes drive to a large village with shops and a railway station. It is clean, tidy and a very comfortable non smoking home with all the modern amenities you would expect. The garden 'wraps around' the house with various areas for seating and relaxing. We are 35 minutes from Gatwick Airport and 75 minutes from Heathrow. It takes about 75 minutes to get to Central London from the railway station in nearby Billingshurst. The nearest coast is 25 minutes away with Brighton being about 40 minutes.
We originally joined Homelink in order to get a non simultaneous swap for part of the time whilst we spent 3 months in New Zealand. We succeeded in this but also had a number of people contact us from various parts of the globe. None really fitted with what we wanted to do until we had an offer from a couple in Canada. We arranged a non simultaneous swap with one couple and a simultaneous swap in June 2018 with another couple. We also arranged a swap in Northern Germany for September 2018. We were in Spain in early 2019 and went back to Canada in late August and September 2019 with another swap. We then exchanged with a couple from Norfolk in October 2019.
We are interested in another swap in the UK in 2020, all offers to swap are seriously considered. We are also interested in other parts of the world for 2021, no specific destinations in mind at this point.

The house is located on a country lane but is not isolated as we have quiet neighbours on each side. Use of a car is essential. We are perfectly located for exploring London and the south east of England with all the attractions that has to offer.

Dónde ir y qué hacer mientras se esté en nuestra casa
Country walks and cycling are possible from the house but within 30 minutes drive there are a wealth of attractions from parks and beaches to shops, pubs and restaurants. There are many golf courses within easy reach. Attractive towns such as Chichester, Horsham and Guildford are all within easy reach. The South Downs National Park is a short drive away, Chichester Harbour is 35 minutes away. Near to Chichester is Goodwood with a country house, horse race track and motor racing circuit. There are a number of magnificent stately homes within easy reach as well as places such as Arundel Castle, the Chalk Pits Museum a Country Park and Fishers Farm Park. The Ashdown Forest is an hour away and the New Forest an hour and a half. A train from the station takes 75 minutes to get to central London. The south coast is around 25 minutes drive.
The area is criss-crossed with public footpaths. Our nearest is opposite the junction at the southern end of the lane. Maps supplied also show them. Drive out on any local country lane, find a sign, park and walk. The South Downs also provide excellent walking and views.
During the summer months there are numerous events in the area ranging from small village fetes through the Loxwood Mediaeval Joust and up to large events like the South of England Show.
We can recommend places to eat, drink and shop depending on your likes and dislikes, as well as places to visit and things to do.

We would expect you to take care of our home in the same manner that we will take care of yours. Strictly no smoking in the house, please. We also always take our outdoor shoes off in the hallway. Our hot tub will be available to use and simple care instructions will be given. Watering a few pots, maybe a little weeding and a mow of the lawn would be appreciated.
Use of car might be possible, to be arranged during negotiations.
