NO EXCHANGES IN AUGUST EXCEPT FOR AUSTRALIA!
Our home enjoys an excellent location in the beautiful medieval seaside town of Gaeta 130 Km (80 mi) south of Rome and 90 Km (55 mi) north of Naples. Very close to the city centre and the beach, with spectacular panoramic views over the Gulf of Gaeta, Mount Vesuvius, the Naples coastline and the beach of Serapo. Our 3-bedrooms can comfortably accommodate up to 7 guests and there's a very large balcony running along the side of the house that you can use for eating, reading or relaxing. There's also a large panoramic terrace located one floor up and an ample garden with tall pine trees, patio furniture, garden toys and a dining area with a small barbecue. It all belongs to my family, so you'll be able to use it anytime you wish. Two bathrooms and a large kitchen complete the offering.
PLEASE NOTE: THE HOUSE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN JULY AND AUGUST 2019.
OUR SON IS ALLERGIC TO DOGS SO WE CANNOT EXCHANGE WITH FAMILIES WHO HAVE THEM. SORRY!

Gaeta has a very rich history dating back over 2000 years and plenty to do and see. The mausoleum of Lucius Munatius Plancus sitting on top of "Monte Orlando Hill" is a testimony to the time when the Ancient Romans inhabited the area. It also features the Monastery which contains the famous "Grotta del Turco" and "Montagna Spaccata" (Split Mountain) which according to the legend was split in half by a massive earthquake after the death of Jesus Christ.
The Medieval Quarter is yet another testimony of Gaeta's rich past. The Aragonese-Angevine Castle built by the King of Naples and Emperor Charles V, was often used by various Popes to seek refuge when Rome was under attack. Today the winding cobblestone streets of "Gaeta Vecchia" are home to many restaurants and bars offering great views over the gulf.
From late spring until late fall, the numerous beaches in the area offer plenty of sporting activities to do. "Serapo" is the largest and usually most crowded during the summer months but there are also smaller beaches like "Fontania" and beaches you'll only be able to reach with over 300 steps like the "Arenauta".
Food lovers will also find plenty to suit their tastes. The traditional "Mozzarella di Bufala" is made not far from here and there are several places in town where you can buy it fresh directly from the dairy farm.
Unlike pizza which is widely available across the country, "Tiella" is a typical Gaeta specialty. It's a savoury tart filled with seafood or vegetables. There are many places selling it and each follows a traditional family recipe so every tiella is slightly different. One of our favorite family pastimes is tasting and comparing tiellas to find out which place has the absolute best. We definitely invite you to do the same! :-)
Seafood and fish are also excellent. You can try them at various restaurants in town or buy them fresh in the "Pescherias" along Vicolo Indipendenza which the Americans affectionately call "Piccolo Alley".
And speaking of Americans, Gaeta is also the home of Nato's 6th Fleet Flagship (currently the Mount Whitney).

Dear Friend,
there's only one simple rule to follow when you're staying at our place. Treat it with the same care and respect you would treat your own home and tidy up before you leave. That's all! Thank You.
PLEASE NOTE: WE PREFER NOT TO DO EXCHANGES IN AUGUST.
