Glenn and I are each retired (chemical engineer and educator) and we both enjoy travel. We have a genuine interest in meeting people, learning about other cultures, seeing new things. We are avid art gallery and museum visitors, and are wine/vineyard enthusiasts. We enjoy biking and moderate hiking. Glenn enjoys running, and has completed more than 25 marathons. I am learning to throw pottery on a wheel and am active in the local art community in Wimberley.
We love to say YES to exchanging. Whether or not we’ve listed your location specifically in our upcoming plans, if you’re interested in visiting this part of the world we hope you’ll ask.
Our home in Humble Texas just north of Houston and our cabin in Wimberley Texas just south of Austin are about 3.5 hour drive apart and provide very different Texas experiences. The drive between them has several interesting stops including the Painted Churches of Texas in and around Shulenburg, the Texas Wendish Heritage Museum in Giddings, Berdoll's Pecan and Candy store featuring the "Pearl the Squirrel" landmark, and the Blue Bell Ice Cream Creamery in Brenham. (those last two are definitely the most delicious stops to make en route)

Lots of room for cooking, dining, relaxing. Two large guest bedrooms, one with a private ensuite, one with a 'Jack & Jill' ensuite sharing the tub/shower room with the bunkbed/game room. Large dining/living space w/ fireplace & TV, bar area, formal dining, and library. Off the kitchen there is a hall with the laundry room, mudroom, and access to both garages. There is also a guest half bath. The expansive game room features a TV and bunkbeds as well as a nice view of the pool. Pool and spa are heated, and there's nice outdoor living space with grill and sink.
The primary bedroom, the one we use, has a king bed and if that's required we can make it ready for you, but for ease of exchanging we prefer to offer you your choice of guest bedrooms. Each has a new queen mattress, pillows and linens dedicated solely to guest use. There is extensive drawer space as well as plenty of closet room.

Descripción de nuestro barrio y la zona en que se encuentra
Our home is on the outskirts of Houston (see Attractions below for more about Houston) in the Fall Creek community of Humble. (see link below) We have quiet, tree-lined walking paths, a wonderful park, and an outdoor sport complex with workout equipment and a playground. If you are a golfer, we have two fantastic courses, one of which, the tournament course (former home of the Shell Houston Open) is open to the public. We are also quite near Tour 18, a course designed to recreate 18 particularly interesting holes from famous courses in the U.S.
There are several grocery stores within five miles of our home. There is a small farmers' market at the park every Sunday. We have bicycles you are welcome to use to explore. Fall Creek sits near the intersection of two major thoroughfares making it easy to get downtown, or to other outlying communities.
Our home is a little over a 3-hour drive from our cabin in Texas Hill Country, Wimberley Texas. The drive between has interesting stops of its own, too.

If you're ready to head to the city, we recommend downtown Houston's Discovery Green, just 16 miles away. There is always something fun, interesting, entertaining going on. It's also near the sports parks: Toyota Center (basketball), Minute Maid Park (baseball) and BBVA Compass Stadium, home to our beloved Houston Dynamo (Soccer). We are season ticket holders and have 4 seats for your use if you visit during the season.
For theatre and concerts, Houston offers Jones Theatre with a full slate of symphony and musical theatre offerings, The Hobby Center for Performing Arts, the Alley Theatre, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and the Wortham Theatre Center. The Wortham Center is home to Houston Grand Opera and for Houston Ballet. Lambert Hall, a smaller more intimate venue, offers performances by our regional opera company, Opera in the Heights.
We have an interesting Museum District with another great outdoor space, Hermann Park featuring a Japanese-style garden, a reflecting pool, kiddie train, the zoo, and Miller Outdoor Theatre. There's the Houston Museum of Natural Science, our outstanding Children's Museum of Houston, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and the Houston Contemporary Museum. Just over in the very trendy Heights District you'll find the Houston Art Car Museum. It houses absolutely outrageous and over the top real, operable cars that have been outfitted as moving sculptures. The annual art car parade happens every spring and is quite delightful!

Forty-five minutes by car and you'll be at Space Center Houston, a combination museum/activity center where you can learn about the space program from its beginnings. The Space Center is near Kemah, which has a boardwalk along the Houston ship channel with shops, amusement-park rides, outdoor fountains for cooling off, and great restaurants.
With a day trip to Galveston you can walk along the beach, visit Moody Gardens, and enjoy a variety of shops and restaurants.
