This was our first exchange and because of that we didn't know what to expect, but it was great. Communication was great throughout, the family was overall very nice, friendly and accommodating. Questions were easily answered and they were always ready to help. We found the house itself was nice and cozy, and we also spent many evenings in the summer house outside, watching TV. From the location, it's a short drive to Thornhill, and even visiting Dumfries isn't much of a hassle. For the house's surroundings, the nature around was beautiful, we saw quite a lot of birds that came to eat by the house, and there was always an opportunity for short walks. Initially, we were a little worried about the left-hand traffic, but we got used to it very quickly. Just be aware of the narrow roads and start slowly, and you'll be fine. We absolutely recommend this exchange, and thank you Kerry, Stephen and Sonny for this experience!

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home, lots of walks available with main facilities 15 miles away in Dumfries. The Cairn Valley is very quiet and peaceful.

This exchange was everything we hoped it would be and more! Their lovely home, warm and inviting, echoed the warmth of our hosts. Steve and Kerry were very accessible via email and provided a chance to meet them in Scotland before they left for our home in the US. Steve and Kerry's home sits in a peaceful, pastoral setting yet provides easy access to castles, ruins, stone circles, the sea and quaint towns or take a simple train ride to Edinburgh or Glasgow. 10/10 A+ and top marks all around. An unforgettable experience!
