Rheinfelden is a pitorseque small town with approx. 13'000 inhabitants. An old bridge connects it to Baden Rheinfelden in Germany with a nice market and cheap shopping opportunities. The city of Basel is only 20km away and you can reach it very easily by train (approx. 5 connections per hour) or even by boat in summer times. Basel is Switzerland's city of culture, of football and carneval. We live in a trinational area (from Basel, trams are running to France and to Germany) and we are loving it; probably as much as the Rhine river. In the summer time, thousends of people go for swim - all day long! Our appartment gives you a great opportunity to enjoy this refreshing feeling as well. You just walk down the stairs (approx. 20m from our home) and you can jump in the water and let you flow. After approx. 600m you will reach a sandy beach where you can easily step out. This beach is part of the new town park where you can enjoy the river with small children easily as well. Rheinfelden has two beautiful parks with lots of possibilities for children but also for adults to relax. Rheinfelden is home of Switzerland's biggest brewery known for its beatiful industrial architecure. But it is not just the beer, Rheinfelden is also known for relaxation and (salt water) spa. In a walking distance of 5 minutes you will reach a great public wellness/sauna/spa center where you can easily spend hours without getting enough! Our home is situated approx. 15 min from the old town and approx. 25 minutes from the train station but you will never regret this walk as you walk along the river that boosts you up with energy. In case of being tired, you just take the city bus that runs every 15 minutes (bus stop 200m). We live next to a small wood, ideal for a walk, for biking or jogging. Several official cycle routes are right in front of our house (even connecting us to the Atlantic or the Black Sea). Two supermarkets can be reached within 5-10 minutes. There are also some very good restaurants in town, the closest one in a walking distance of 10 minutes. In general, Rheinfelden offers a great infrastructre - very good public transport connecting us easily to Basel and Zurich, two motorway exits, hiking and biking paths, swimming baths, spas, ice skating, tennis, golfing and much more! There are two factories on the German side of the river and if you are very sensitive you can hear a light buzzig. Usually, you can not differ it from the rush of the river.
