I am an academic, writer, translator, food lover and—most of all—a devoted traveler. I was born and raised in Prague, lived and worked in several foreign countries like in the US, Italy and Denmark. I normally travel alone or with my partner Niels-Erik, who is an artist —no children.
Since 2007, when I became a member of this great site, I have—thanks to HomeLink—visited more than 20 destinations: Brazil (Florianopolis), France (Paris and Brittany), Holland (Delft), Italy (Padua, Bologna, Sardinia), Israel (Tel Aviv), Spain (Madrid, Sanlucar de Barrameda, Sevilla), and the USA on lengthy stays in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, San Diego, etc.
Through these home exchanges I have made a number of great friends, and we continue to see each other and sometimes engage in home exchanges on a private basis.

Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
The apartment itself is in a condominium from 1920. It is a one bedroom apartment. The house is part of a historic and protected block. A pearl of architecture of those times. The apartment has robust walls, it is facing the yard with tall birches and chesnuts. Threre is an elevator in the house. Because the apartments in the building were reconfigured under communism to accommodate more units—often in a manner no architect could conceive—the results could be very funky, and my apartment is no exception. It has two connected rooms shaped like a “V”, plus a kitchen and a bathroom with shower located off the kitchen and a separarate toilet.
The kitchen is cute, with white cupboards, a gas stove, refrigerator and washing machine (no dishwasher). There are dishes and eating utensils, pots and pans, and an electric coffee machine and blender. The living room has a white sofa, an armchair, a dining table and chairs, and a tv nook.
The bedroom has two beds, each 90 cm wide, pulled together are 180 cm, ( king size) but the beds can be separeted and moved to the living room easily, if you are two people, and wish privacy. There is an antique wardrobe, a mirror, and shelves with books. The furniture is typically Czech, but does not overwhelm the space as is often the case in Czech homes. My style is influenced by Scandinavian simplicity and clean lines, (less is more). I have some pieces of unique furniture. Glass, mirror, pictures and books are part of the environment. In the rooms there are books, mostly from the collections of my father and mother (both of whom were Czech writers). The windows open to the quiet yard, overlooking a perfectly preserved block of typical Czech architecture of the period.
My apartment is situated within the center of Prague, in a lovely green and art nouveau quarter on the border Vysehrad/ Nusle. My home is reachable by metro ( stop Vysehrad) and by the tram nr.18, which stops just in front of the house.Very practical when you are tired of walking in the city.
Nusle is itself a quarter worth knowing, it is still an authentic place where real Czechs are living and eating. You can experience a real life here and you are only two metro stops from the historical center.( MUZEUM) .In Nusle you will find awesome local restaurants. F. example U Bansethů, you get a roasted goose for 3 Us dollars only, and a great Czech beer to go with it. If you prefere international food, we have a great Italian restaurant where real Italians cook and serve the food. . .

Descripción de nuestro barrio y la zona en que se encuentra
Center of Prague. My home is a charming apartment situated in a building that is typical of Prague architecture of the 1920s. The neighborhood is authentically Czech, located in an un-touristed neighborhood of inexpensive and undiscovered restaurants and shops. Yet it is very convenient: the streetcar stop is directly in front of the building and takes you either to the metro (one stop) or the center of Prague (about 12 minutes). It is very popular with Czechs, close to everywhere but away from the tourist crowds. My apartment is on the third floor, and can be accessed either by elevator or by stairs.

Dónde ir y qué hacer mientras se esté en nuestra casa
Within 10min by tram to the river Moldau and Vaclav square, Which is the big main square in Prague
Lo qué nos gusta y lo qué no... Estas son nuestras preferencias y normas domésticas.
Finally, I have been on HomeLink since long before AirBnB came into the picture. I expect that my guests are looking for the same thing that I look for when I travel: the experience of living like a local, as much as that can be possible for a foreigner. Which means staying in a home, with all of its plusses and minuses, and not in a hotel room. My place is not a hotel and not a rental unit; it is where I live, work, sleep and dream when I am in Prague. It is clean, but it is not empty or neutral; it is my home.
