Descripción de nuestro barrio y la zona en que se encuentra
We are very close to Portrush Promenade a short paved walk above the beach which leads to the Harbour area. A short walk from there to the other side of the peninsula, that makes up old Portrush, leads to the East Strand a 2 mile long beach leading to the White Rocks. Both beaches are good for surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding and have beautiful fine sand. The town has numerous coffee shops, restaurants and bars, craft and tourist shops plus Morellis a famous ice cream shop. There is also a small amusement park Barrys at the end of the Prom. Portrush was host to the 148th British Open Golf this year and is a world class golf course. Ramore Golf club is also in Portrush.
There are several restaurants at the Harbour complex, a good Spanish tapas restaurant Ocho on Main St, and numerous cafes in Portrush - Cafe 55 has great views.
Troggs and Woodies hire out wet suits and surf boards and there are surf classes available.

Dónde ir y qué hacer mientras se esté en nuestra casa
We are only 2 miles from Portstewart along the coast to another great beach resort with two respected golf courses and is the mouth of the River Bann. Coleraine is only 4 miles away and is the county town with plenty of shops. The mesolithic site at Mountsandel is in Coleraine.
We are 3 miles from Dunluce Castle which is on the way to Bushmills where the world's oldest licensed whisky distillery is. Two miles out of Bushmills is the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO world heritage site. From here you can drive to Ballintoy an old lime kiln now famous as one of the sites used to film Game of Thrones. The Dark Hedges are only a few miles from here. The Antrim Coast road passes Ballycastle on to Cushendall and Cushendun and on to Glenarm. The Antrim Coast road is one of the top three coastal drives in the world (Tripadvisor). The Glens of Antrim are accessed along this coast too.
Also from Portrush you can drive or take the train to Derry and visit the walls and museums. By car you can cross the Irish border from Derry to Donegal to visit this lovely county and the most northerly point of Ireland, Malin Head, where part of the last Star Wars film was shot.
A day trip to Belfast by car or train is feasible to see the Titanic Centre and city itself.
