We are Chris, Katy and have two children, Ben & Sally. Chris owns and runs a sailing school in Nelson and Katy is a GP. We love travel and the outdoors, including sailing, cycling, tramping, kayaking & skiing. We originate from the UK, although we've lived in NZ continuously since 2004 and are NZ citizens.

Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
Our home is located in an outdoor enthusiasts paradise, close to the beach with sea and mountain views and the added bonus of lots of nearby local cafe's, restaurants and vineyards. At the north of the South Island we are also within an hour (or little more) of the Abel Tasman National Park, Nelson Lakes National Park, Kahurangi National Park and the Marlborough Sounds.
The house was fully renovated in 2017/18 and is double glazed throughout. It's on 3 floors on a large terraced sloping site with steps to the front door on the middle (1st) floor, in a quiet location with native trees and bird-life. The double garage on the ground floor is used as a workshop and for bike storage and behind that, under the 1st floor deck is a small self contained flat with it's own separate access. The flat isn't included as part of the exchange. The main living area is on the 1st floor, with entrance hall, 2 lounges, open plan kitchen/dining and a small bathroom. Upstairs on the top floor are 4 bedrooms, one with en-suite, and a family bathroom with separate toilet. The drive is large and can easily accommodate at least 4 cars.

Fabulous views over the sea to the mountains. Big sandy beach at the bottom of the hill (20 min walk - 2 by bicycle or car). Tons of world class mountain biking, sailing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, kite-surfing, hiking and just about every other outdoor pursuit you can think of. Nelson is a real cafe culture destination too and we are surrounded by vineyards and fine restaurants.
