Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
Our home is a large two bedroom second floor apartment. We are located in a beautiful small beach side village 35 minutes from Cancun airport. Our condo is in a two building-6 unit condo complex that's just a short walk to the beach; there is even a peek-a-boo view of the sea from our windows. The complex has a swimming pool and garden area.
Our condo is spacious and bright and has a lovely balcony. It is located about 5 blocks from the town square; easy walking distance from several wonderful restaurants and shopping. The beach is just a "shell's" throw through our back gate and the the reef, which is a protected biosphere park, is a wonderful place for snorkeling and diving.

Puerto Morelos is a small fishing village on the coast. It is part of the Mayan Riviera with Cancun 30 minutes north and Playa Del Carmen 45 minutes south by a major four lane highway. It is easily and affordably accessible by bus and taxi. There are a few small hotels in the town and many private residences and small condo complexes owned primarily by Canadian and USA residents. There are many excellent restaurants and a large grocery store within walking distance. The town is essentially located along the beach and is only three streets deep.
PM is known for its long, wide beach and its close proximity to a large, beautiful coral reef system. Snorkeling can be done right off the beach or one can hire a guide and boat to snorkel or SCUBA dive at the reef which is a protected biosphere reserve.

The biggest attraction in Puerto is its wide, long beach, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and being lazy and it's just a few steps from our condo. There are two beach bars within 100 meters as well. PM also has many yoga studios and some even offer yoga on the beach. As well there are many massage providers both on the beach and in town. P.M. is a fishing village and you can easily hire a guide and boat to take you out and then have your catch prepared at a local restaurant. There is a fishermen's co-op in the village that sells fresh seafood you can prepare at home.
If you want to explore the area further the Mayan Riviera is rich with entertainment and archaeological attractions. Entertainment options include: Croco Cun Zoo, Cirque de Soliel, Xoximilco Park, Xcaret Park, Xplor Park, Xel-ha Park to name just some of the more popular. Ruta de los Cenotes is nearby as well as a wonderful botanical garden. This is also a great location if you enjoy walking and birding. If you enjoy ancient history there are many fascinating Mayan sites within an hour or two from Puerto. The most famous Chichen Itza is two hours away by car but there's also Ek Balam, Coba, Tulum that are the same distance and many other like Calakmul and the Puuc area that are farther but well worth exploring. In addition there is the beautiful small colonial city of Valladolid which makes for a wonderful day trip, it has great restaurants, shopping, a market and cenotes nearby and is very near the amazing archeological site of Ek Balam.
There are many tour operators in Puerto that provide tours to all the major sites or will take you to a cenote for a swim. Cenotes are fresh water underground pools located throughout the peninsula, great for a cool dip on a hot day. Taxi drivers can be hired to take you pretty much anywhere, to Playa Del Carmen to shop, to the Cancun markets and to entertainment or archaeological sites. Just ask and negotiate a price. If you are more adventuresome you can access all of these areas by bus. The service is excellent and inexpensive.

We expect the condo to be treated like it's your home and to be left clean and orderly.The cleaning staff expect the condo to be orderly, dishes washed and put away, laundry washed and dried as they don't do that work instead focusing on dusting, floor washing, bathroom cleaning and windows.
