Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
Our comfortable seaview home is in the heart of Mill Bay, a few minutes walk from restaurants, shops, marina and beaches. If you are physically active, this is a great place to come. Hiking trails through forests and up small mountains abound. The ocean is a 10 min. walk away and there are lakes nearby for water sports. When you get tired of having fun, relax on one of our 3 decks or 2 patios with a glass of local wine and enjoy the ocean, flora, fauna and our Bald Eagles and Humming Birds. We are conveniently located in the Cowichan Valley wine country, 35 minutes north of Victoria or one hour south of Nanaimo. We have a gourmet kitchen, bathroom, dining/family room and living room on the main floor. The second floor has full laundry, 2 bedrooms and den with heated floor ensuites and cable TV. The 3rd bedroom is used as an office so not included in the exchange. The bottom of the house has a private walk-out 1 bedroom fully furnished suite.

The neighbourhood is semi-rural and quiet with friendly neighbours. Our non-smoking 3 storey home is located on a .5 acre lot with a treed running creek. There are many birds including Bald Eagles and Hummiing Birds to watch and it is common to see deer walking through the area. If you are lucky you may also get to see whales in our bay. We are a few minutes from shopping and the ocean, close to golfing, great dining, parks and recreation. There are lakes nearby for boating, fishing and swimming. Taxi and bus service is in the area.

- Outdoor adventures include hiking, mountain biking and fresh or salt-water fishing, kayaking or paddle boarding. The unique wooden Kinsol rail trestle is close by.
-Wine tasting at the numerous vineyards in our beautiful valley, many with gourmet restaurants. On your own or join a tour.
- Do the Totem Pole walk in Duncan, 15 minutes away.
- Visit the internationally acclaimed Butchart Gardens accessible by ferry from Mill Bay to Brentwood Bay
- Tour Victoria and stroll around the Inner Harbour, enjoy afternoon tea at the famous Empress Hotel or visit the Royal BC Museum, Hatley Castle and Craigdarroch Castle.
- Spend some time in the town of Duncan which is known as the City of Totems. Visit the Cultural Native Centre to find out more about the aboriginal people of the region.
- Ride the steam train at the BC Forest Discovery Centre near Duncan.
- See the famous murals in Chemainus or browse the arts and craft shops. Have dinner and attend live theatre in the evening.
