We are back to homelink after a break of 5 years. We've moved to our new home a year and a half ago, we have extensively renovated it, so it is warm and comfortable. However I haven't taken many photos for this listing yet, so please get in touch if you want to see some.

Our home is in the heart of Ireland, in the countryside, but only 5 minutes from the town of ballinasloe. It is a large home, with 3 main bedrooms, but an airbed can be put in the library, to sleep two more. We have a large sunny kitchen with west facing deck for BBQs, a cosy sitting room. High speed broadband and cable TV.

Our home is quiet and peaceful but not suited to children, it is fine for older teenagers. No pets please.

We have a small exercise room with a full size treadmill and exercise bike, if you're feeling energetic.


In the vicinity is the river Shannon (10 mins drive) for boating and fishing. Slightly further away clonmacnoise, Athlone castle. Galway city is approx 45 minute drive, Dublin city about 90 drive. We are close to the motorway, and ideally placed as a base for sightseeing.

In the town are pubs, restaurants and shops. The train station is on the main Dublin/Galway line

Underneath the main house, which sleeps 8, with a separate art studio and library/music room. There is a fully self contained one bedroom flat, this is available for non-simultaneous exchanges all year.

Ballinasloe is a small market town in the Midlands of Ireland it is typical Irish small town the pace of life is slow and friendly. You can visit one of the pubs, to listen to some traditional Irish music, or just enjoy a pint with the locals. Play golf in three lack golf course. Ireland is small, Dublin is just an hour and a half away, Galway about 45 mins with its bustle, shops, restaurants, pubs and the spectacular Atlantic Ocean

Galway (45mins) full of history, galleries, shops, amazing restaurants, music, exhibitions, theatre, gateway to the west, the Atlantic Ocean, the burren

Our house is not ideal for young children as there are too many craft items, ornaments etc around. No smoking in the house please. We have two outside cats and would be happy if you feed them, but she can be taken care of by neighbours. We want you to feel at home, we are keen cooks and would be happy for you to use whatever spices, ingredients you need if you are cooking.

A car is highly desirable in any location outside of the major cities in Ireland, if my car insurance allows we could possibly have a car exchange
