We are Philippa and Allan, a well-travelled couple in our early 60s. We've been Homelink members since 2003 and have done over 70 exchanges, via Homelink and other swapping sites. We are also experienced house and pet sitters. We are very flexible on dates and can offer simultaneous or non simultaneous exchanges. We are currently seeking an exchange in Scotland or North of England for late August 2024 Usually we travel as a couple ( but our adult daughter and granddaughter aged 6 might come with us) . We also have a further home that sleeps 2 in the Lot Et Garonne and a modest cottage, sleeping 4 in County Durham, plus ur main home in Brittany, France

The church bells directly opposite stop ringing at 10pm.and start again at 6.30 am, but being at the back of the house we slept like logs. Highly recommended.

Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
Our house is colourful, comfortable and homely. Built in the 1800s (we think) it has an interesting history, particularly during the war years when we have been told it was a Resistance HQ, subsequently taken over by the Nazis. It is a prominent stone house in the centre of the village, which has a bar, baker's/grocers shop. We moved here in the Summer of 2021 and since then the house has had a make-over, both inside and out. It has a large well-equipped kitchen with a range cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The dining area seats 6 people , comfortably has French doors that lead on to the garden. The lounge is has a woodburning stove and TV with English channels. We also have a utility room and downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs is a large landing/reading area, a home office, three double bedrooms, two which have ensuite shower rooms and a family bathroom. On the second floor is another bedroom with seating and working area and a further ensuite bathroom. Outside we have an enclosed garden with lawned area, flower beds and a small vege patch. There's also a decked area with comfortable seating and a BBQ. and an outside gravelled eating area. (I will be adding more photos soon) The house is centrally heated. Wifi We have a dog and a cat. We are able to decamp from home on a non simultaneous swap, taking our dog with us if necessary, but would ask swappers to look after the cat. (very easy!) For a simultaneous swap we would need and be happy to offer petcare. The nearest small supermarket is 5 minutes drive away. Pontivy which is an interesting Napoleonic town is 10 minutes away and has a full range of amenities. Josselin with it Saturday market and chateau is 25 minutes drive away. The northern and southern beaches are about an hour. There are plenty of interesting places to explore nearby.
