Our family has been living in San Francisco since 2000 - well, Nathan and Angi anyway. We met during graduate school and have been married for ten years. Nathan is a research scientist at a local biotech company. Angi is a teacher/administrator at a private school down in the Peninsula. Our son D is four years old and goes to an Italian immersion preschool (Ciao!). We love to cook, travel, and hang out with friends!

Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
Our house is a spacious, single-family home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen, backyard, and garage.
Upstairs: The sun-filled master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, private bath with shower, and a relaxing hammock chair for lounging in. The second bedroom is set up as a kid's room with a twin bed and blackout curtains. (You can easily fit another small mattress in here if you have more than one kid and want them to share a room.) The third room is set up more like a study/living room but the couch pulls out to a comfortable queen-sized bed and there are also room-darkening curtains. There is also a hallway bathroom with tub and shower.
Downstairs: Our downstairs has an open floor plan, so it's our main "hang out" space. We have a well-stocked kitchen, large dining table that can seat easily seat 6-8, and a family room for watching TV/movies. This is also where the play area and most of our kid's toys are. From the kitchen, you can access our laundry room (with washer and dryer) and backyard with fruit trees, BBQ (gas and charcoal), and hooks for hanging up a hammock. Perfect for relaxing on a sunny day!

Descripción de nuestro barrio y la zona en que se encuentra
Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood called Sunnyside. We are walking distance to at least three playgrounds and a short driving distance to many more. While we are close to the highways, we don't hear much noise from the traffic. There are some casual restaurants in Sunnyside - Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Shanghai-nese, and a small market with an excellent beer selection. :)
We are also a ten-minute walk to Glen Park, the next neighborhood over which has a BART (subway) station, MUNI (street car) station, and a small downtown area. Glen Park has one of the best pizza restaurants in SF, several other restaurants (Thai, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, American diner), a wonderful market, a library branch, and more. There are also a few cute cafes nearby as well as Glen Canyon Park, an incredible piece of nature right in the middle of SF with hiking trails. Taking the BART will quickly get you to many parts of the city from the Mission to downtown.

Dónde ir y qué hacer mientras se esté en nuestra casa
We love to eat out and can send SO many more suggestions and tips that we can't wait to share with you if you decide to swap with us! We will mention a few here that's near our house.
Our house is also a short walk to the BART (subway) and MUNI (street car) stations, several bus lines, and easily accessed by taxis/Uber/Lyfts as well. There are also bike/scooter share stations in Glen Park. So it's super easy to get to other parts of San Francisco and take advantage of everything the city has to offer from museums, Golden Gate Park, theater/opera/symphony, and tourist attractions like Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, etc.

Lo qué nos gusta y lo qué no... Estas son nuestras preferencias y normas domésticas.
- We keep our home neat and tidy and would prefer that it be left the same way when we return.
- We are a shoeless household, so we ask that guests take shoes off by the front door when they enter.
- Our kitchen is well-stocked and we will leave instructions on the few items that we don't want guests to use or consume.
- The hammock chair in the master bedroom is meant for reading and relaxing. Please do not allow children to use it as a swing. :)
- Because our neighbors' houses are very close to ours, no loud music or parties after 10pm.
