I live on the first floor of a duplex in L'Assomption, a highly cultural town. Just 30 minutes from Montreal by car (Jazz festival, Grand Prix, Just for Laugh Festival etc.), 20 minutes from Joliette where "Lanaudiere's International Festival of Music" is held each summer (the biggest classical music event in Canada), and 2 hours "en route" for Quebec City, 6 hours from Toronto and 8 from New York.
The region is rich in golf courses, forests, mountains and lakes. One can easily go hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, skating , golfing and cycling in the area. Local agriculture also allows all kind of fresh produces.
L'Assomption, a town of 20,000 people, offers all the necessary commodities for your stay. Good restaurants, cafe-bistros, golf courses, theaters, indoor and outdoor performances are only minutes away by foot or car.
