Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
We have a beautiful home in the Ottawa suburb of Kanata backing onto a school, playground & bike paths. Within walking distance is a public swimming pool and tennis courts. It is a perfect family spot in the summer. The backyard is nicely shaded. There are many parks, forested areas and lakes in the region. We are a short drive to downtown Ottawa and the Rideau Canal (a UNESCO World Heritage site), museums, beaches, markets, and parks. One of our favourite activities is biking on the many bike paths beside the Rideau Canal or the Ottawa River and stopping for a picnic at a beach. Ottawa is home to a wide variety of festivals in the summer. Other interesting cities are nearby: across the river is Gatineau Quebec.

Beaverbrook is one of the original parts of Kanata, a community with a population just over 100,000 people west of Ottawa. We back onto a school so there are fields and play structures. Bike paths and walking trails are very close as is the Ottawa River (we have 2 kayaks) and other activities. It is just a 30 minute drive into the core of Ottawa.

Shopping, restaurants, movie theatres are only a short distance away within Kanata. There are also many things to see in and around Ottawa: The Diefenbunker, the Rideau Canal and Ottawa River, the Parliament Buildings, the Byward Market, the War Museum and other Museums, Hog's Back Falls and Rideau Falls, and more.

For 2021 we are looking for somewhere within driving distance of Ottawa for a 7-10 day exchange. Preference is somewhere in Ontario or Quebec. Simultaneous or non-simultaneous exchange possible. We have teenagers 17 and 19 but they will not travel with us on this exchange, they will stay in Kanata at another home.
