it was once again a successful home exchange, At very short notice, we were able to arrange this exchange with the exchange family, which was wonderful for us. we spent wonderful days in Ghent, it was very hot, So we went to Holland on two days to the beach, and enjoyed the great summer weather. Ghent is a great city, with a wonderful old town. We visited the castle and explored the city The house has a great, central location, so we were in the city only by bike, which was very pleasant. Didier welcomed us on arrival and explained everything in the house, so we met briefly. The house is very convenient, we felt very comfortable.

Didier`s home was a lovely place to spend 12 days. It is spacious and well equipped and its design features are really interesting. Prior to the exchange Didier was extremely helpful in making adjustments to his home to accommodate our 2 year old which I really appreciated. Despite being in the city, it is a quiet area and good local shops and a large park within a short walking distance. The bus stop, with very regular buses into Ghent city centre, is a few minutes round the corner and the train station is only 15 minutes walk with direct trains to Bruges, Brussels and the coast. Ghent is a lovely city and much more than a weekend `city break` as there is plenty to see in the city and surrounding area. I would highly recommend a home swap with Didier.
