We're a couple of 69 and 66 and we like to travel in northern Europe, France and Italy.
We were devoted hitch-hikers in the sixties and seventies.
We did 10 home exchanges with our two sons between 2002-2012
We like reading books. Our sense of humour is good / very good/ outstanding.

Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
Character home (built 1879) with garden and terrace in Antwerp City center near Zoo and central station.
** we prefer a 2 week exchange **
Our house is in Antwerp, one of the oldest cities in the kingdom of Belgium.
Our home is a fine place to come home to. It's an ancient house too. It was built in 1879, it has high decorated ceilings, wooden floors and big doors. Light comes in from the garden which provides a terrace and a little lawn with a grape tree , apple trees and flowers.
On the ground floor there is a dining room and a spacious kitchen area. From the dining room you have big doors going into the garden and the terrace - the best place to enjoy a coffee and Belgian chocolates (=pralines). Next to the dining room there is the "salon" with a TV and pc corner. (Plus family games and other toys. We have kept the toys from when our kids were small.)
On the mezzanine there is a bathroom with two lavabos, shower, bath and toilet. (There is also a toilet on the ground floor.)
On the first floor you have two bedrooms, one king size and one teenagers room (either with two beds, or one bed + extra bed for small children).
On the second floor there are three rooms: a bureau room with computer and broadband access and two teenager study rooms . And there is a vintage 1970 soccer table too.

Descripción de nuestro barrio y la zona en que se encuentra
Just behind the front door, you'll find bikes to wheel into the city and see it all: the Zoo ( just 100 yards away) , the old port, the cobble streets, the Rubens Museum, the railway 'cathedral', the new kids waterplay park, and the many many café's and restaurants. Not to speak about the world diamond centre and the art nouveau district. - No cycle aspirations? Tram stop is only 100 yards away (with view on giraffes and Zoo!)
We live in a 'tucked away' neighbourhood but with 19th century characteristic houses, a quality that has attracted a lot of young families in recent years. In the direct area you'll find a great variety of shops: every continent, culture and flavor is right in our neighbourhood.
Moreover you'll find nice neighbours that will give you good advice and guidance during your holiday.
