There are plenty of outdoor activities available including surfing, swimming at the beach or in the beautiful Brunswick River, fishing, snorkelling, cycling and a large selection of sports are available in the area including golf and lawn bowls at the local Country Club. There are some lovely local walks and hiking opportunities, particularly the Byron lighthouse walk which is a local favourite and a new 24k rail trail opening March 2023.

There is much to see and do in the area with North Ocean Shores being an ideal base for exploring Northern New South Wales and South East Queensland. Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby and Byron Bay are close by and the Gold Coast and International airport are only 30 minutes away whilst Brisbane, a capital city, is only one and a half hours away.
