We had a wonderful time in Lesley’s and Garth’s home. Their home is spacious and with all the appliances one would want. As their housing enclave is called “Bardon Treetops”, it was appropriate that we really felt like we were up in the trees in the area behind the house, along with the birds and damselflies. Their home is very handy for buses into the city, and the bus stop is only two minutes from the house with regular service into the city. Their home is also only a five-minute walk from an extensive forest area, Mount Coot Tha, with trails, picnic areas and abundant nature, and we regularly made the walk there for exercise and to watch birds. Their home is convenient for grocery shopping and walking distance to a couple of very nice coffee shops, which we visited regularly. We really enjoyed the weekly market at Milton. Their Tesla was a novel experience for us, but once we understood how everything was adjusted, it was a comfortable ride. Their location just northwest of Brisbane downtown provided easy highway access to many of the national parks in eastern Queensland, and some of the Gondwanaland rainforests in places like Mount Glorious and Lamington National Park. Lesley and Garth were lovely hosts, and responded to all sorts of queries from us. They even arranged for one of their sons to pick us up at the airport. The information and transit cards they left behind were invaluable. We had a wonderful time in the treetops in western Brisbane.
