Charming little house with a garden and terrasse with views of Rueil and Paris. Your own little piece of verdant, calm heaven just near Paris, in the suburb of Rueil Malmaison.
Perfect for a couple, or a family of four. Very close to the La Défense, the business district of Paris with lots of shopping and restaurants, and, of course, to Paris. Only 9 km away from the Arc de Triomphe and 12 km from the Eiffel Tower. Public transport in close proximity, with a bus from La Défense that leads directly to our doorstep or the fast regional train that takes just 20 minutes to get into Paris!

A great location for visiting all of the great monuments and museums that Paris has to offer, but also for getting a taste of the way the French noblesse lived, with the castles of Versailles and Saint Germain en Laye, both inhabited by Louis XIV, just a train ride away (closer to our home than they would be from Paris)! Rueil Malmaison was also home to Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Josephine de Beauharnais. Their castle is still standing, open to the public for visits, and, most importantly, within walking distance of the house.

This house is truly perfect for touring the many surrounding areas and monuments – Paris included – during the day, and kicking back and relaxing in the garden in one of our comfy lawn chairs, grilling out in the backyard (grill and plancha at your disposal), or taking in a beautiful sunset with views of the region from the sunny front yard terrasse.

The neighborhood is very residential, calm and secure, surrounded by other homes and lots of greenery. There is a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy and local market within walking distance, as well as numerous boutiques and markets in the quaint center of town (20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car). Rueil Malmaison also has quite a few parks including the Forest of Rueil that is located just along the River Seine and inspired many 19th century impressionist works.

If you are looking to get out of the city or to have some seaside fun, Deauville is just a two hour drive away, making it an ideal destination for a day trip or an overnight stay. The city in the Normandy region is home to beautiful beaches and a picturesque town. Deauville also hosts the American Film Festival annually, and was once one of the most glamorous vacation spots for old Hollywood celebrities.

The house has 2 floors and a basement.

The first floor is composed of a spacious and sunny combination living space and dining room, equiped with a large television, cable TV, video game consoles, wifi, computer… all the comforts of any modern home. Large French windows connect to the front and back yards, allowing for a nice breeze in the summer and lovely views always – ideal for having a pleasant meal amongst the greenery in the summer. The kitchen is fully equipped and very spacious.

The second floor has: one bathroom, with a combination shower/bath, one Master bedroom with a Queen-size bed and a view into the backyard, and 2 children’s rooms with beds, desks, and plenty of space to move around/play if you have children.

The basement is comprised of a play room, ideal for kids, equipped with a pull-out couch if need be, a storage area, and washing room. There is an additionally mother-in-law suite in the backyard, fully equipped with Bed, toilet, sink, and fireplace.
