Recently retired, Jim was a business consultant and Sue, a teacher, we love travelling and want to utilise our second home to further enable this. When our children where younger we exchanged our own home for swaps in Europe many times. We enjoy skiing, one of the factors which led to us buying our home in the Laurentians, but would love the opportunity to ski more in Europe. Since retiring,Jim has pursued his lifelong love of art and has done several cruises delivering art lessons. Depending on where the swap is we would sometimes like the option of having our adult children join us, and in this case would look for a home swap which could accommodate six adults. We both love the natural world and any swap which would enable us to see wildlife would be brilliant.

Descripción de la casa que ofrecemos en intercambio
Our second home is set in the 250 acres of Fiddler Lake Resort. In a secluded one and a half acre plot it is a dream home in all seasons. We have close proximity to the recreation centre with indoor / outdoor pools, tennis courts, ice skating rink and children's playground. The house is made from majestic logs but has every comfort inside. It has a large garden which is surrounded by trees which are wonderful during the Autumn fall colours. The house comfortably sleeps six but there is a sofa bed for a further two guests.

Descripción de nuestro barrio y la zona en que se encuentra
The 250 acre resort has 86 homes on it all set in secluded grounds around Fiddler Lake, a non-motorised water where you can swim, canoe or fish. It is a pleasure to simply walk around the resort or snow shoe in the winter months. As part owners of the resort any guests at our home have full access to all the resort facilities and may enjoy canoeing on the lake using the resort boats. The resort is a 15 minute drive to the nearest ski slope 'Morin Heights' and a further 15 minutes to 'St Sauveur' which has the largest area of floodlit slopes for night skiing in this part of the country. St Sauveur is a popular tourist village with beautiful shops and masses of restaurants/ bars. In the summer there is an excellent cycling route, on the path of an old railway, which runs as far as Mount Tremblant. During the winter you may try out your walking skis on this route. The house is about a 45 minute drive from Montreal with all the sights of that metropolitan city and Montreal airport is a similar distance. There are a number of golf courses within an easy drive and lots of hiking opportunities in and around the area.

Lo qué nos gusta y lo qué no... Estas son nuestras preferencias y normas domésticas.
The house will be fully cleaned for your arrival and you will collect the keys from reception at the recreation centre a few minutes from the house. If you have any problems reception staff will sort them out, just ring from the house. There are certain peak times of the year when the house is fully booked, Chrismas / New Year holidays and July & August but apart from this, with enough notice, we can block out our home from the central booking system.
