• A warm welcome in a lovely house

  We could not have been happier with our home exchange in August 2021 with Marjorie, Clement and their three boys. Their house is pleasant, stylish and comfortable. All necessary amenities were available and they prepared us a very warm welcome. Their home is well situated near the city center of Nantes in a quiet residential area. As we were allowed to use their bikes, we had a lot of opportunities to explore this vibrant and interesting city. It was also easy to arrive at the station from where we had a train ride to the ocean. We also visited the Loire Valley châteaux which was a great experience. Nantes and its region offer a broad range of nice places to visit: nature, sea, culture, art – it was absolutely fascinating. Marjorie and Clement had prepared a lot of information and suggestions for us which was very nice and helpful. The communication with them was very friendly, easy and supporting. Thanks a lot for your hospitality, Marjorie, Clement, Virgile, Gabriel and Clovis – we had a wonderful stay and really felt at home in your beautifully designed house and garden! We would be very happy to keep in touch!

• Best start into the world of Homelink

  Being our first home exchange, we have been really excited on what we will expect. Fortunately, Marjorie & Clément with their three boys, already well experienced in exchanges, supported us for all questions and uncertainties to make us feeling very comfortable even long before our holidays started. They surprised us with a big selection of local specialities as well as offering everything needed to “survive” the first days (and even longer). Many guide books and tourism brochures were at our disposal, we even got some more personal recommendations and a house-guide in written form. Their modern house left nothing to be desired and is very spacy, tidy and clean. It is located in a calm neighbourhood, the terrace and garden invite to relax. However, you find yourself in a short (walking) distance to supermarket, bakery or restaurants. Despite a longer excursion to Mont-Saint-Michel and a shorter one to the vineyards of Nantes as well as for a big shopping centre in the suburbs we discovered everything by feet. Nantes is a very lovely and vibrant city – following the “green line” you pass all important attractions – in summer time it is even more spectacular with the “Voyage à Nantes” art installations. A unique place is certainly “Les machines de l’île” with the monumental freewheeling mechanical elephant. In the old town you find everywhere picturesque places. As this was the first trip with our son (5 months) we also spent enough time to relax with him - so we perfectly enjoyed the calmness in the several parcs of Nantes and of course in “our” house and garden. Thanks a lot to our exchange partners for this wonderful stay which was the perfect start into home exchanging!
