  Thank you Susan & Harry for the welcome in your grand home in the mountains overlooking San Jose - a beautiful view, mornings and evenings, with the twinkling lights of the city. With our children & grandsons we enjoyed your home as a base to tour Costa Rica. We also visited Tortuguero, which was on your Recommended list - and well worth the drive and boat ride to visit Coastal Caribbean Rainforests!

  The house in San José is ideal to start of for serveral visits. We did three with staying several nights outside. First we did the north and west, then the sought and west and finally the east coast. Vulcanic areas were impressive. Don't forget San José is quite above sea level what means you can have only 20°C (or less) during the month of August.

• I recommend this place to almost everyone.

  Do take into account that the house is at a height of 1500 m, so in "our" Summer, it's Winter there (despite the location above the equator). Many roads are bad, so that you might book a few hotels if you want to visit the Caribbean coast and the Pacific Ocean. It is not possible to use bicycles. Go there if you like fauna and flora. The house is OK for 6 people. Thanks Alberto for the "service".
