We felt very welcome and comfortable in this lovely flat. The location is great for all forms of transport - tram, train and bus. And you can walk everywhere in town. We had a great time!
Wonderful for our first home exchange!
We had a wonderful holiday in Oostende and used it as a base for exploring Brussels, Brugge and the coast along to De Hann, using trains and trams rather than the car. The flat is an ideal HomeLink house, it has a large open plan feel with plenty of outside spaces on the terraces, yet it is not too big to clean at the end of the stay. It is tastefully decorated and has all the facilities needed in terms of kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Everything is of very good quality. There is a supermarket close by and lots of places to eat in the town, serving many Flanders delicacies. The flat is a few minutes walk from the train station and tram/bus station so using public transport is very easy and there are bicylces provided as well, no need to use a car. Easy links to all the major cities and tourist attraction in Belgium make this an ideal base for exploring. Oostende has a wonderful, vibrant beach and we used the beachhut twice during our stay as the weather was so hot. Gertie and Phillip arranged everything beautifully for our arrival and kept in contact throughout our stay by text message which was very helpful. They left our house in a beautiful condition and were our ideal, first Homelink partners for us.
Lovely penthouse close to sea and city
Very modern and stylish penthouse in a town at the Belgium seashore. Oostende is a mix between a holiday city and a big city. But not too big. You got all kinds of leisure at your disposal. Also very close to cultural cities like Brugge and Ghent. Highly recommended.
Fabulous home, wonderful city.
We had a wonderful exchange with Gerti and Philip. Their home is Ostend was perfect for us. It was bright, modern, full of art and books, with 3 big and beautiful terraces. The apartment was quiet and centrally located, and it was easy to walk to the shops and the beach. We had a trip to Bruges (only 15mins by train), and we also enjoyed the coastal tram which is great fun and runs the length of the Belgian coast. We hopped off at a few places for walks and refreshments, and really loved exploring. Ostend is a great city with lots to do. We enjoyed our walks taking in all the fabulous murals, and also the art galleries. We loved it all....thank you Gerti and Philip.
Danke für diese Tauschmöglichkeit! Eure tolle Wohnung in Bahnhofsnähe war grandios. Die Nordsee und die Städte in der Nähe von Oostende im Februar zu besuchen war eine gute Idee.
Séjour merveilleux dans cette appartement clair et spacieux. Bien placé, il nous a permis de visiter la ville et ses environs, de découvrir cette côte sublime, avec en plus une météo exceptionnelle à cette époque de l'année. Excellente communication. Merci à vous.

Comfortable luxury apartment near city center
A short walk from Oostende Rail Station we found this fifth floor apartment very well prepared for our visit. There was food and wine to get started and plenty of information about how things work and what to do in the city and surrounding area. Upon our return home to England we found our home just as we left it. The only unfortunate thing about this exchange is that both couples were travelling on the start and finish dates and we never got to meet in person.
