Australia - Devonport - Home by the sea (Australia - Tasmania - DEVONPORT)

Our Guest Book

  • Added to this comfy house was the superb generosity and friendship of the home owners. The only problem with our stay here was that it just wasn't long enough! We were able to visit many interesting places in N Tasmania, walked in the Cradle Mt. park and went to the (wet) west coast.. We visited the seahorse centre and the echidnea and platypus rescue centres. We also found Devonport an interesting city, so although the stay was short we crammed a full and varied agenda.

  • A really enjoyable exchange

Great stay in Liz and Scott's comfortable Devonport home. They were kind enough to collect us from Launceston which is about 100 km away. We were made to feel very welcome. The reserve and walking path just over the back fence really added to the experience.

  • So welcoming!

Scott and Liz were most welcoming and spent considerable time with us throughout our exchange period. It was a pleasure to get to know them and their beautiful part of Australia and relax in their home during our exchange. Devonport and surrounding areas had more options - especially for outdoor activities - than we could explore in our 10 days there.

  • Non-simultaneous exchange.

It was a pleasure to meet Liz and Scott. They did everything imaginable to make our holiday enjoyable, starting with collecting my travel friend and me from the airport in Launceston and driving us to Devonport via the scenic route. They provided valuable local knowledge and brochures for travel further afield. We enjoyed their company. Their house is comfortable and in a quiet area. Beach and riverside walks were highlights. Devonport is a central location from which to explore other areas of Tasmania. I love a winter holiday. Liz and Scott are welcome at my place any time.

  • thank you for allowing us to create memories.

Thank you once again Scott and Liz for providing us with an exchange that allowed us to soak up the Tasmanian environment. Loved being able to unwind and relax in your spacious home, walk to the beach, drive along the ocean road and then pop into the countryside and enjoy farming communities. Especially enjoyed visiting the Emu Gardens in Burnie and the Arboretum outside Penguin. Love the fragrance of the Australian bush and the bird song that emanates from the trees. We have returned home feeling refreshed and restored.

  • We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Great location.

We had a lovely stay in Devonport. Made trips to Cradle Mountain, Boat Harbour, Beauty Point and Launceston. Very central area to explore the north, west coast. Great coastal walks from the home. Thank you Liz & Scott.

  • We enjoyed our stay enormously. The house is close to the beach and terrific walking tracks.

  • Spacious comfortable home - great countryside

We were very comfortable staying in this lovely spacious home so close to nature. A walk to the river through the Australian bush land were the birds were singing, a walk to the beach to take in the salty air all within 10 minutes. This was a perfect place to stay and explore some of the NW of Tasmania, its changing countryside from pastures to a beautiful coastline. Not being hikers we were still able to enjoy much, one being the Taste of Tasmania Trail - fresh produce straight from the farm. Fully recommend a stay in Devonport.

  • Thankyou for sharing your home with us

we had an amazing trip -tasmanians could be kiwis .we are very alike .

  • It was a great time in your house on Tasmania. Thank you!

  • I felt very comfortable in your house.

  • A great base and a real home away from home.

What a great visit to the north west of Tasmania, thanks to Scott and Liz's hospitality and the use of their amazing home in Devonport. Their home provided for every possible need and we appreciated very much their caring communication throughout. Very good exchange partners! Peter and Maggie

  • Great exchange!

We had a wonderful time in Tasmania. Scott and Liz were could not have been more helpful and hospitable, not only to us but also to our extended family who joined us at various times during our stay. The house suited us perfectly, being only metres from the beach and the steam train - ideal for the young grandchildren! We thought we would spend more time travelling around the island, but in fact found more than enough to entertain us in the surrounding area. Highlight of the trip were the wild wombats of Cradle Mountain! Thanks, Scott and Liz, for a great trip!

  • Absolutely wonderful, we felt at home.
