Our Guest Book

  • Nice area at north shore of Wales

Janet and Gareth have a lot of informations about their region: walking, biking, bathing, touring. We enjoyed to be in GB again. Thank you.

  • Great location

We had a lovely week in Janet and Gareth's spacious and comfortable home. The house was well prepared and our hosts had thought of everything. The area has plenty of interesting things to do. We enjoyed living on the edge of the town and being only a ten minute walk to the shops, yet the immediate area was very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful countryside and the coast are close by. Thank you Janet and Gareth for a very successful exchange.

  • A perfect exchage on the North Coast of Wales

We spent an excellent 10 days at Janet's and Gareth's home in Prestatyn. The home was ideal for us to explore the northern part of Wales. We went along the coast as far as the edge of the Angelsey island and made also an incursoin inland, driving around Mount Snowdon and exploring the many hided marvels of the area. Our hosts had prepared a lot of detailed maps, so no chance to get lost. When coming home in the evening, we appreciated to sip a beer in the separate garden house in the backyard. As we were back home a little earlier than our hosts, we had the chance to invite them in our Geneva home, an nice occasion to exchange about their trip and about Homelink experiences in general. Thank you both for this interesting exchange.

  • What a lovely, bright, warm home. We would highly recommend, particularly as a great base for travelling in Wales either by car or by train.

  • A lovely home & garden, walkable to the beach

We had a lovely week with 2 of our former foster sons. When the weather was hot we walked the 25 minutes to the beach, and on other days we were spoiled for choice with trips to Llandudno, the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Conway castle and short walks on parts of Offa's Dyke. Our home was well cared for and clean.

  • A beautiful area for walking

We enjoyed lots of long walks along the coast and inland along the Offas Dyke path, with amazing views of the sea and mountains. There are amazing beaches on this stretch of the coast. Conwy castle and Penrhyn castle were really interesting, and Chester was a good day out on the train (recommend The Bluebell restaurant - great tapas). Llandudno was busy, to be expected on a bank holiday weekend, but easy to escape the crowds by walking up the Great Orme! Thank you for having us in your home, and for the helpful information you left.

  • Well appointed and comfortable property situated in a perfect location to explore all North Wales has to offer. Thank you for a great exchange

  • An ideal starting point for great experiences

We spent two relaxing weeks in the cosy, well-furnished home with a large garden. The surroundings offer many interesting things to discover and we enjoyed the wonderful nature. During the two weeks we drove along the coast with the bikes, visited some of the impressive castles (Conwy, Beaumaris, Flint), hiked in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and climbed up the stunning Cadair Idris! Besides the interesting cities in North Wales, we visited Liverpool and Manchester. In addition to the smaller and larger coastal towns, we also enjoyed the time in the villages worth seeing in Snowdonia Park. We found lots of cosy coffee houses to relax after the hikes and visits. The exchange was very well prepared. We had a nice, helpful communication before the swap and Janet and Gareth were perfect hosts! They provided us with many information and recommendations regarding places of excursions etc. They left our home in an impeccable condition. We will gladly remember our home exchange in Prestatyn and we like to thank Janet and Gareth.

  • A really nice exchange

Janet and Gareth helped us to a great exchange to North Wales. In their cozy house in the beautiful Prestatyn we have been very well, everything was well prepared for us. With a very nice and extensive communication before the exchange we could clear all questions well and also during the exchange we had a nice communication. Wales has so many attractions (castles, palaces, beaches, mountains ...) that our 10 days were not enough to see everything. A home exchange that we will gladly remember and for which we would like to thank Janet and Gareth.

  • The bungalow was very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful garden and great location. Everything you could wish for.

  • We had a wonderful stay in the house of Janet and Gareth in Prestatyn (without car). Janet helped us a lot with bus and train timetables. In several files we found much information for trips, walks, good meals in restaurants etc. There are really lots of possibilities for discovering beautiful Wales. Thanks, Margrit and Andreas

  • I have had a very fine stay in Prestatin, Wales in Janet and Gareths house. As I travelled alone, I had decided to use public transport. I had great pleasure of the Wales Explore Pass - 4 days by train 8 days by bus - very cheap and easy to use. In this way I visited Anglesey/Holyhead, Bidston/Birkenhead, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Llandudno and Bodnant Garden. I brought Janet's bike with the train and had great pleasure of using it, where I came. Together with my daughter and son in law, who visited me we for a few days, I experienced Chester, Portmeiron and Conwy. Thank you Janet and Gareth.

  • Perfect stay in Prestatyn!!

The house of Janet and Gareth is comfortable, warm and friendly, with everything you need for a perfect stay and a nice and well-kept garden. Prestatyn is a nice small town where you .can find anything you need: shops, restaurants, cafes and the house is a walking distance to the train and bus station We have been able to visit the wonderful castles of Ruddlan, Conwy, Caernarfon and Beaumaris. Nice visit to Snowdonia with the lovely Welsh Highlands steam train. We have also enjoyed the beautiful medieval town of Chester and a day in Liverpool. But above all we emphasize the kindness of the people of Wales, who have treated us with affection and have helped us at all times. This includes Janet and Gareth, with whom we have had a long communication by mail to realize all the details of the homeswap. Thank you Janet and Gareth to share your home with us!! Diolch yn fawr iawn am bopeth !!

  • 'A lovely exchange!'

We arrived in a nice, lovingly well-prepared house and we felt like coming home immediately. We had a very friendly correspondence since our first contact and have already discussed many things, prior to our home exchange, including many important hints, which were very useful for our stay. The weather meant well with us, so we sometimes could enjoy the nice seat in the beautiful garden, not least because of the quiet environment. Our excursions took us to Chester, Harlech, Llangollen including the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Anglesey. The highlight for us was a one day excursion with picture-book weather to Conwy and Llandudno with Great Orme. You will find all necessary shops in Prestatyn (High Street and supermarkets), and within short walking distance to the sea, there is the beautiful beach, where you can relax or take walks how long as you like. All in all a wonderful exchange, Janet and Gareth, thank you very much !!!

  • A perfect location to visit North Wales

We felt very comfortable in Janet and Gareths house which is located in walking distance from the small town of Prestatyn. Several nice shops and cafes in town, a big Tesco and M&S. Wonderful beach-promenade and quiet beach nearby. From Prestatyn we took a lot of trips in all directions - Chester, Conwy, Chirk-Castle, Bodnant Garden, Snowdonia and the Isle of Anglesey- to name but a few. There´s a lot to see and explore in North Wales and we enjoyed our stay very much!

  • A great base

We really enjoyed our stay in Prestatyn, an area we were not familiar with. A 10 minute walk into town and the railway station, and then to the beach. Llandudno was well worth a days visit as was Bodnant Gardens. A good walking area. We stopped off at Ruthin Craft Centre on the way home which is well worth a visit. The house was very comfortable and the sunny garden a welcome place to sit after a hards day sight seeing.

  • Our holiday in North Wales

Janet and Gareth's home gave us the opportunity to visit some of the many attractions in North Wales which is a beautiful area. We visited Castles, National Trust Properties, Electric Mountain, the Slate Museum and Bodnant Gardens. A visit to Angelsey Island with a boat trip to Puffin Island was one of the highlights of our holiday. All of these places can be reached in about an hour from Janet and Gareth's house. We also took the opportunity to visit Lord Langford's Country home which is well worth a visit, and just ten minutes by car down the road. The town of Prestatyn is within walking distance and has a large M&S and Tesco's. North Wales has something for everyone.

  • Brilliant location

Within walking distance of Prestatyn town with shops, restaurants and railway station. Prestatyn is a pretty town and the coffee shops are delightful Trains ran regularly along the north Wales coast in both directions from the local station. We loved Chester with its historic buildings and Llandudno was lovely. It's a long drive to the Snowdonia area for a day trip, but not impossible. The home was comfortable, with everything required and the garden well kept and a delight to sit in. We're hoping to return again next year, but with a few days in snowdonia too.
