We are New Yorkers who are fortunate to have a beautiful and quiet apartment in downtown Manhattan. Mike is American. I am too but also Dutch/Indonesian. I have lived in France, England and Greece. We are happy to take care of plants and/or pets and will treat your home with respect as we hope ours will be too. We have had 5 great exchanges with Homelink (three were before they had exchange agreements therefore the dashboard says we've had two.) I try my best to get back to everyone's offers but as New York is a very popular destination, we get so many that my response rate is not as high as I would like it to be.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Very quiet area for downtown New York City. Close to the East River. Stuyvesant Town is a residential community with beautiful trees, extensive landscaping, an oval with a large fountain for relaxing in the spring, summer and fall, and in the winter there is an ice-skating rink. Everything you need is a short walk away....subway, buses, coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Most of the year there is a green market on the oval on Sundays.

Everything New York has to offer is a walk or subway ride away. Tompkins Square Park, which is the heart of the East Village, is very close by. You can walk to Union Square and take the subway from there go anywhere uptown or downtown. You can also take a bus uptown from 1st Avenue which is very close by.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

Please do not lower blind in living room as the last home exchanger had trouble and it is fragile now. If possible, please water plants 1 x week.
