I am a retired single woman who enjoys traveling as a part of my busy retirement lifestyle. My home is in The Villages, Florida. I travel in and out of the country, sometimes with one or more friends or family members, and, occasionally, alone. I had a varied career as an independent accounting consultant working with a wide variety of businesses from corporations like GE, newspaper companies, and a film production co, to smaller independent businesses.
I value my home as it is my sanctuary and will take great care of yours as though it were mine. I have been on a couple of exchanges with a good friend of mine from The Villages and they have both been very positive experiences. However, this is the first time I have listed my home.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
The Villages is a one-of-a-kind recreation and wellness oriented community. Most residents are 55+ and savor a busy, sociable lifestyle filled with tennis, pickleball, golf, music, dancing, swimming and water exercise. Joggers, walkers and bicyclists enjoy a network of paths winding through the abundant green spaces. My home is a comfortable, well-equipped 1200 sq. ft., 2 bedroom courtyard villa. It has a stucco exterior with a 5-6 ft. wall around the outdoor courtyard area. Floors are hardwood with area rugs. The lanai is my favorite place for my morning routine.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The Villages provides a gated, safe and attractive community where you can take advantage of a steady stream of recreational, musical or sports activities of your choice. There are three "town squares" where stores and restaurants are gathered around a central gazebo where residents enjoy nightly musical entertainment, dancing and socializing. There are several dozen swimming pools and golf courses, as well as many large recreational centers with tennis or pickleball courts, Olympic-sized pools, and a range of interest-based activities. Residents enjoy zipping from place to place in their customized golf carts on dedicated golf cart paths or in their cars. For those who wish, Orlando's many theme parks are a little more than an hour away. Beaches on each coast are accessible day trips from one to two hours away.

See our comments in the Neighborhood section. Disney World, SeaWorld and other Orlando theme parks are slightly more than an hour's drive from The Villages. We are located in central Florida just about midway between the Atlantic and Gulf Coast beaches which are about an hour and a half away. Ocala, 20 miles north is horse country for those who want to tour thoroughbred farms or go trail riding.

My home can accommodate four people comfortably. This is a 55+ community with no children in full time residence, but children are welcome visitors. Grandchildren visiting grandparents enjoy many activities, particularly the designated family swimming pools and Camp Villages activities during school vacation breaks. Golf carts are a major means of transportation and rentals can be arranged through a number of independent rental businesses or The Villages Golf Cars-Lake Sumter Landing . If you plan on taking day trips it will be necessary to rent a car. (Enterprise Car Rental maintains an office in The Villages.) Smoking is not allowed in or outside my home and my expectation is that you will leave my home in the condition that you found it, clean and tidy.
