Near our home: Scenic Lake Mayer Community Park is just a mile from the house and features a 1.5 mile walking trail. The Savannah Botanical Gardens is also just one mile and it offers beautiful plant exhibits and butterfly garden. Skidaway Island State Park is great for hiking along the Coastal waterways and is just a 10 minute drive from our home. Enjoy a day at the beach! Beautiful Tybee Island is just 30 minutes away, where you can relax on the sand and enjoy some of the freshest seafood at one of the many local restaurants. Savannah is known as “The Hostess City” and after only a 15 minute drive, you will be in Historic Downtown Savannah where you can explore the amazing parks and squares that date back to the 1800’s. While downtown visit City Market and take advantage of being outdoors and listen to live music or take a break and try some of Savannah’s favorite restaurants. Don’t miss out on world famous River Street, where you can watch some the world’s largest container ships pass by as you have a drink or a bite to eat on one of the many rooftop restaurants.
