Description of the home we are offering for exchange
1,550 Sq. Ft. single story Post War / Mid-Century Modern home. 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, kitchen, and open floor plan dining/living rooms. Our home has beautiful mountain views, is situated on a rural feeling large oak-studded lot and is a 7-minute drive to downtown. The immediate neighborhood offers quiet evenings and we are blessed with beautiful sunsets, frequent visits from raptors and owls, and an occasional coyote or deer siting. Our home is all one level and accessible for a wheelchair, but bathrooms and kitchen present challenges for wheelchairs or those with limited mobility.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our immediate neighborhood is nestled in the foothills on the backside of the Santa Barbara Riviera. The neighborhood is comprised of homes on larger lots with plenty of privacy. There are several open spaces with walking/hiking trails immediately adjacent to our home, as well as, close access to both mountain biking and road cycling routes. The Santa Barbara Mission, Riviera Theatre, and Belmond El Encanto Hotel are each a 5 minute drive away. The Riviera Theatre offers a great selection of movies for those interested in Independently made films. The Belmond El Encanto Hotel was recently renovated and is a wonderful perch for sunset cocktails or an amazing dinner overlooking town. Downtown is a 7 minute drive or Uber ride away, while a 10 minute walk will take you to Francheschi Park at the top of the Riviera where there are exceptional views over the city out to the Pacific Ocean.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
A quick 5-10 minute drive or Uber ride will get you almost anywhere in Santa Barbara or Montecito - beaches, parks, the zoo, and a myriad of shops, restaurants and cafes. The University is about a 20 minute drive north, while Carpinteria is about 20 minutes south with world class waves at Rincon. A longer day trip will take you over the Santa Ynez mountains for a day in the Danish Village of Solvang or to Los Olivos and Santa Ynez for wine tasting.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We keep a tidy home, have concrete floors, nice furnishings, and a big back yard. We will have our housekeeper clean the home before you arrive. Because we spend a lot of time outdoors, we prefer that shoes not be worn indoors so that sand and dirt is not tracked inside. Upon departure we ask that beds be stripped, that all linens and towels be placed in the laundry hamper, and that all dishes be washed and put away. Also that any remaining food that is perishable be thrown out. We ask that eating take place in the Dining Room/Area, Kitchen, or outdoors only.
