My home is located in an older well maintained residential area known as Cedar Hills (CH). Walking is my main form of exercise and CH is a very safe area for this activity. Commonwealth Lake Park is a half mile away and is always included in my daily treks.

Among CH's virtues is it's friendly neighbors, quiet, relaxed atmosphere; easy access to basic shopping needs (grocery, pharmacy etc), public transportation (I always take MAX when going downtown) & major highways for exploring the area. It's the perfect spot from which to visit downtown Portland (20-30 min. by car or train), drive to our picturesque coast (1hr depending on route), explore the wine country (oregonwinecountry.org) or take day trips to Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens or Hood River (U.S. wind surfing mecca). Seattle is 3 hrs away and Vancouver, BC can be reached in 5. There are also some challenging golf courses near by including Pumplin Ridge (oregongolf.com).
