Our second home is in the Puna District on the Big Island of Hawaii, south of Hilo. The home is on a dead-end street and is very close to hiking, great biking, snorkeling, and tourist attractions (Volcano National Park).

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood is quiet and is really quite isolated, in that there are no hotels around and the nearest village is 20 minutes away. Our particular street is in an area of interesting homes and lovely residents. Our neighours are always willing to reach out to newcomers and make them feel welcome.

Our home on the big island of Hawaii has many nearby attractions. You can hike for miles on the lava strewn shoreline, swim at the nearby clothing optional beach, Kahena, relax on the large front lawn at the foot of our subdivision and look for passing whales, hike up in Volcano National Park, or take an overnight trip to Kona.
