Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

We are a professional couple looking to swap in mostly Europe, but we are open to any and all suggestions. Our home is part of a beautiful townhome complex in a safe, park-like setting. Great for kids to enjoy the pool and tennis court. Novato is located in Marin County, home to some of the best hiking, and gorgeous walks in such places as, Muir Woods and Mt Tam. It is also a great place to bike with endless scenic roads nearby in California. Novato is a hub to a huge amount of tourist attractions such as the famous Sonoma and Napa Wine Country, Tiburon, Sausalito, Mill Valley, San Francisco, Berkeley, Pt Reyes, several beaches, and the Sierras (Tahoe) are just 1-4 hours drive. Northern CA is also known for it's great Farm to table food with endless cafes, bistros and fine dining in any direction. We have lots of wildlife nearby, as our town has a rural feel. Turkeys, hawks, deer and an occasional coyote have all be spotted from our deck. Groceries and cafes are all within walking distance. Buses are available just a few meters away. As for amenities, our home is very comfortable with a Tempur pedic bed in master ensuite that features a 55" HD TV equipped with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Our kitchen is fully stocked with all the appliances and tools you'd need to cook and bake. We have 2 full baths upstairs and a powder room downstairs. Sleeps 4 people, yet probably best for 1 couple or a couple with 1 child). Will consider well behaved pets. We also have a Prius car available for exchange.

Attractions

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

The attractions are wide and varied depending what direction you go. The wine country begins in the Carneros Valley, featuring champagne and pinots, yet if you continue onto Calistoga, you'll find it ALL (Sonoma, Yountville, Glen Ellen, etc), including countless spas and places to shop. Discovery Kingdom, a large amusement park is just 30 mins away in Vallejo. You can cross the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco in 30 mins to reach sailing, countless tourist attractions, museums, restaurants, parks, etc. Berkeley is 35 mins away across the San Rafael Bridge. If you'd like to head north you will find Bodega Bay with gorgeous beaches and more wine tasting. There is also amazing hiking and biking everywhere in Marin county, Muir Woods with her towering redwoods, and Mt Tam with spectacular views of the Bay are just to name a few. Sausalito, Tiburon, Larkspur, and Mill Valley are the neighboring towns with great shops and restaurants to explore. The ferry is also a wonderful way to enjoy the area. You can take one to San Fran, or out to Angel Island for hiking and picnics. Farmers markets happen on Tuesday in Novato, Saturday in Larkspur, and a very large one in San Rafael on Sundays.
