Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

3 bedroom duplex in a renovated six story brownstone with elevator.

A rare find: spacious, beautifully renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bath duplex in the heart of midtown Manhattan, with gourmet kitchen, flat screen TV, full staircase, baby grand piano, and all amenities in a renovated 1910 six story brownstone with an elevator.

Our home is on a charming street with a very popular outdoor Mexican cafe on the corner and too many good restaurants to count nearby, in all directions. Despite the quiet location both inside and out, it's just a 7 minute walk east to Times Square and the Broadway theaters, with Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue and the Museum of Modern Art beyond.

There's a citibike (bikeshare) station on the corner and two bike rental shops on the far side of the nearest avenue. A 7 minute walk west leads to the Hudson River with its parks and a bike path on the water that circumnavigates Manhattan. We're also 13 blocks away from the north end of the celebrated High Line elevated park.

Upstairs:
Open plan: chef’s kitchen, limestone on counters and kitchen island, separate dining area, living room area and small desk alcove. Full bath, bright sunny and extremely quiet: faces south away from the street. Air-conditioning throughout. High speed internet/wireless connections through, flat screen HD cable TV with 1000 channels, Wii, HBO on Demand, Roku, DVR.

Downstairs:
A full staircase leads down to a south facing master BR w/ queen bed: “Guitar” bedroom, designed and executed by a noted theatrical set designer w/ twin bed; Guest bedroom with twin bed that easily converts to a king-sized bed – comfortable as well; there's also second full bath, and a separate office alcove with a large desk that is often used as a 4th mini sleeping area. This floor has a separate entrance.

Within the building:
Roof deck with outdoor furniture, panoramic views of skyline and stunning views of Times Square. Also included, keys to award-winning garden, located just one block away.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Our home is on a quiet, tree lined street in the historic Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood – notable for its proximity to the theatre district, museums, shops, tourist attractions and as a food lover’s destination. The best in restaurants, bakeries, specialty stores, cafes, theaters, shopping and biking along the river are all less than a 10-15 minute walk, but our area is quaint. Also, because buildings in our immediate area cannot exceed 5 stories in height, much of the neighborhood has retained its 19th century buildings.
