Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is on a golf course, just a short walk to the ocean, in the Queen's Gate section of Hawaii Kai, a gated suburban community near the south shore of Oahu. It is an attractive single family home with beautiful golf course views. Right from our backyard, there are walking paths all around the golf course for late afternoon-early evening walks. Our home has a well-equipped eat-in kitchen, living room, dining room, three bedrooms, two baths, and two patios that are great for outdoor dining and relaxing. Two of the bedrooms are now used as offices, so an exchange is best with a couple.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live near some of the best beaches in Hawaii. The well-known snorkeling beach, Hanauma, is five minutes (two miles) from our home. Other nearby beaches are for kayaking, body-surfing, swimming, picnicking, and walking. Parasailing, water skiing, etc. are only three miles away. Our typical Sunday morning is a long walk on a beach ten minutes from our home, followed by swimming and a picnic breakfast. Waikiki is only thirty minutes by car. Besides beaches, there are many hiking trails in the beautiful mountains. Within five minutes of our home are three shopping centers with the usual assortment of stores, including supermarkets, pharmacies, movie theaters, restaurants, etc.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Hawaii is also a paradise of restaurants with many ethnic groups represented. The Asian and Hawaii Regional cuisines are especially wonderful. There are museums to visit such as the Bishop Museum for Hawaiiana, the Academy of Arts (especially for Asian art), and Spalding House for recent, often whimsical, art. Then there is the zoo, new aquarium, Pearl Harbor, Punchbowl National Cemetery, Waimea Falls Park, and the Polynesian Cultural Center, where you can see the cultural exhibits and dances of the many Polynesian peoples. Sea Life Park is only five minutes from our home. Every island in Hawaii is quite different. The scenery ranges from the active volcano on the Big Island, to the Grand Canyon of the Pacific (Waimea Canyon) on Kauai, to moon-like Haleakala on Maui, with accommodations from bed and breakfasts to world-class resorts. All are within thirty minutes by airplane.
