We live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, a beautiful, historic, brownstone neighborhood, which is home to many families. Park Slope is just 15 minutes by subway from downtown Manhattan, but has much to offer in its own right. Within walking distance from our house are: Prospect Park (with zoo and carousel), The Brooklyn Museum (art), the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (dance, theatre, opera, film), Barclay's Center (sports arena, concerts, etc.) and many wonderful shops and restaurants. There is also a playground just a few minutes walk from the house which has fountains for children to play in and often has live music on summer evenings. Coney Island, with its famous amusement park and ocean beaches, is just a short subway ride away as well. Our block is terrific - safe, beautiful, lots of children - and our neighbors are very friendly.
