We live in the heart of Bend, right off the major park (Drake Park), two blocks from downtown, across the street from a beautiful river. Our house is in the historic section of Bend, but remodeled for all major conveniences. (We do have steep stairs though.) In the summer, we debate if the front yard or the backyard is a better place to sit because it all feels like a park. The house has three levels with the master suite on the top (and a balcony off the back), the guest bedroom on the main floor, and a home theater in the basement. In the winter, we use three gas fireplaces to heat the house. And we have a lovely kitchen that is well stocked for baking and cooking. We also have a sunroom with all sorts of tropical plants (we like to call it the jungle.) And our front yard often has deer who nibble on the garden.
