Steve (42, lawyer), Kelly (40, blogger/homemaker), Cecily (9), Annabel (7). We have wide experience of travel in Europe and beyond, and love visiting places with cultural attractions for all the family. We have completed nearly 20 very successful exchanges; our children are well behaved and we are very respectful of other people's privacy and property. We leave a huge folder of information and materials about places to visit and are very happy to help our visitors with any planning.

Read More...The Innes family home is the most wonderful english house to stay at. All very cosy and traditional added by a wonderful garden with an own forest. We enjoyed the landscape, the house, the chickens with fresh egg and of course the own forest to walk through. Westham village is in walking distance with small shops, tearoom and some nice restaurants. London is just 30 min by train and a lot of sight seeing highlights from Hever and Leeds castle, Dover, Canterbury, Windsor and Harry Potter world are in easy reach. Not to forget a lot of great shopping facilities. We so much enjoyed our time there and the warm welcome in the house.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our three storey townhouse is in a secluded street in a residential area of a former Victorian beach resort. It is within easy walk of a Victorian shopping arcade with a multitude of useful shops, an independent cinema, cafes, an ice-cream parlour, train station as well as a bus stop. Five minutes walk in the other direction is a series of large sandy beaches connected with a wide promenade ideal for cycling or walking.
You can easily walk along the seafront to nearby Margate which has the renowned Turner Contemporary Art Gallery and the recently restored Dreamland heritage amusement park, as well as numerous cafes and restaurants.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The nearby town of Margate has an old city centre packed with unique places to eat and shop. On the seafront is the Turner Contemporary - a satellite of London's Turner gallery, which attracts thousands of visitors each year (and has some very good workshops and interactive exhibitions for children). There are other quirky attractions in Margate including the Shell Grotto and the Mad Hatters Tea Shop. A very short drive away are places with visitor appeal such as Quex Park- museum, craft village, mini-golf and soft play centre, the Hornby Visitor Centre and the Spitfire Museum. Beyond the immediate area are dozens of attractions of historic and national interest from castles such as Deal and Walmer to zoos like Wingham Wildlife Park, to ancient towns full of historical references such as Dickens' Broadstairs and Canterbury with its Cathedral and connections with Medieval England. There is an amazing wealth of places to visit within a short drive, many of them beloved by our children, such that it is impossible to list more than a few, and having spent holidays here for many years we have still not covered them all: for example we only recently discovered the small but excellent museum in Dover, which houses the world's oldest surviving seagoing boat.
