Hello,
My family is small - me, my partner and Dudley the lovely little fluff ball.
I'm originally from Australia and moved to London 25 years ago My partner and i work from home (we are consultants) and we want to live in Spain. Having both moved around the world a lot we understand that a holiday in the sun is not quite the same as living there so we want to try out a few areas first and thought maybe a home swap might be a good idea.
We are both in our 50's and live a quiet life with Dudley and we have a lovely home in Maida Vale, London. From the pictures you can probably guess that we collect art and hope to move somewhere where there is a bit of culture, a bit of fun (nothing too crazy) and lovely outdoor living.
Our home is close to a tube station or a 10 - 15 minute walk to Paddington and Notting Hill, and is only 20 minutes by bus to buzzing Oxford Circus.
I have a little Fiat 500 and a Vespa 125 that I would be happy to allow use of (I would need your license to put you on the insurance) however the public transport links are so good that you don't really need a car.

Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
The flat is on the 2nd floor and is spread over 3 floors so it is not suitable for people with mobility issues.
Bedroom 1 is on the 1t floor and has a double pull out sofa bed that is super comfy. We use this room as an office but has a small wardrobe and some draw space
Also on the first floor is a newly renovated bathroom with walk in shower
Walking up the stairs you will find the open plan kitchen and lounge area which has just been renovated and decorated. We've also just bought the most enormous 65" tv which is fantastic.
Walking up to the main bedroom and you will find another very small en-suite. The main bedroom has a queen size bedroom and lots of cupboard space.
Central heating and double glazing makes this very cozy in the winter.
The flat is light and airy and our plants and art make it a lovely home.
Dudley is hypoallergenic so doesn't shed hair and so people with allergies wont have trouble.
Our neigbours in the building (only 2) are owner / occupiers and really nice.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
It's situated just North of Notting Hill - a 10-15 minute walk from the famous Portobello Road - art, shops, street market, antiques and wonderful bars and restaurants
Being so close to Notting Hill, Queens Park and Paddington you would imagine it is super busy but Maida Vale is a special area - super leafy, wide streets and a friendly and safe neighbourhood.
There are loads of parks to explore and of course a quick walk to a tube station and London is there for all to enjoy.
There's a wonderful array of pubs (fancy and not so fancy) in walking distance, and of course the coffee shops and corner shops in case you forget the milk

Paddington Recreation Centre is about 4 minute walk away - a running track, gym, coffee shop and tennis courts.
Portobello Road, Golbourne Road and Kensington are not far (walk or bus)
St Johns Wood and the lovely Regents Park or walk along Regents Canal is all really possible.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We will make sure our home is neat and tidy for you to enjoy and hope that it is left in the same way you found it. I'm happy for you to bring your small dog but I would prefer it not to be left alone when you go out. I can arrange for my local pet sitter to look after your pet in case you want to go for a day trip (she lives over the road and charges a reasonable rate for well behaved dogs)
No smoking in the house or parties.
My neighbours are my friends and so it is important that you respect them and try and keep noise down.
