Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is a bungalow with a garden in a quiet residential street in the Hartford area of Huntingdon, a historic market town in Cambridgeshire. We are about 20 minutes drive from Cambridge, which can also be reached by an innovative guided bus link. Hartford village, about 5 mins walk, has two excellent pubs (both selling real ale and food) and a local shop and post office. Huntingdon itself, a 5 minute drive, short bus ride or a 30 minute stroll through the beautiful Ouse Meadows, has a number of hotels pubs and restaurants and shops, as well as a leisure centre. There is also a shopping area and cinema complex about 5 minutes drive away.
Cambridge has the historic colleges, more walking and river based activities and excellent shopping and entertainment options. London is just an hour by train from Huntingdon station, and there are also fast direct rail connections to many other parts of the UK. We are also a perfect base for exploring England by car, as Huntingdon lies at the crossroads of major north/south and east/west routes, and much of the country can be reached in no more than two hours.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
A quiet but friendly suburban street in a small town. There is a general store nearby, plus two friendly local pubs which both have restaurants. A 5 minute drive away is a cinema complex with a number of restaurants and a superstore and other shops nearby. Huntingdon town centre is also nearby, with more shopping opportunities, a number of historic inns (the high street is part of a Roman road that later became the principal coaching route between London and Edinburgh). Both the old village of Hartford and Huntingdon lie on the River Great Ouse, which offers beautiful walks along its banks.
