We enjoyed an excellent week visiting the nearby sculpture park and Nostell Priory, climbing Mam Tor for its beautiful views and touring the Derwent Valley mills further afield. We really enjoyed this comfortable and spacious home well placed for visiting the local area. The master bedroom has an ensuite and dressing room and you can admire open countryside right from the bed! The kitchen is well appointed with all modern appliances and we appreciated our basket of goodies from Alan and Mary. We managed to visit The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Ladybower Reservoir with its lost Villages and the local Shopping Centre with its outlets. Alan’s house is immaculate. It’s a fantastic house. Very very spacious and incredibly clean. Its almost like a luxury hotel! It’s in a very quiet village right in the edge of the Peak District. The entire area is surrounded by wonderful walks and the local retail park is only 5 minutes drive away (Fox Valley). The retail park is worth a visit just on its own. It’s a wonderful place. We spent half of our time touring and the other half staying in Alan’s wonderful garden. Add to that, we got fantastic weather. You can easily explore the Peak District from here, where you can cycle and walk in so many places. This was a wonderful swap and well worth a revisit. Thank you Alan and Mary Eddie & Liz
