***WE ARE LOOKING FOR FRANCE / SPAIN IN 2020 - POSSIBLE CAR SWAP SO WE CAN FLY***
We've had 7 wonderful exchanges so far and love this kind of holiday. We are a family of 3; Duncan 43 - restaurant owner, Angus - 13 and Izzy - 11. We have a cat, Hattie, 3 chickens & some fish to look after.
Our home is a large detached former farmhouse with 4 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room & conservatory. We also have a large garden. We're based in the beautiful Derwent valley 7 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a small village in the middle of the beautiful Derwent valley. This is home to the majestic red kite bird and you can often see them from the garden.
There's several play parks within easy reach of the house.
There's plenty to do nearby such as Hadrian's Wall, the Northumberland coast with historic castles & fantastic beaches, historic Durham is only 20 minutes away and the rugged scenery of the North Penines / Wear Dale and Tees Dale are very close. The gorgeous Lake District national park is 2 hours drive away. There's also Gibside National Trust property within 1 mile and extensive woodlands within walking distance.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Our house is within a small village with a handy shop and a post office. It's a very short walk across some fields to get in to extensive woodland. The centre of Newcastle with museums, restaurants, cafes museums and shops is very close by and the beautiful Northumberland coast with its beaches and castles is only a short drive. Why not explore the historic Hadrian's wall while you are here or visit the wonderful Holy Island?
