Aug 8, 2020 - Sep 20, 2020 Europe

Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Surprise us! We are seeking a 10 day to two week swap in Europe in August or September 2020. We already have other swaps arranged for 2020.

We live in beautiful North Wales, about one hour's drive from Manchester and Liverpool airports which are in the north west of England.
North Wales was rated "4th best place to visit on the planet" by Lonely Planet in recent years.

We have sea, countryside and mountains with access to cities. The mountains of Snowdonia are one hour by car from our home. We have three World Heritage castles within reach - Beaumaris, Conwy and Caernarfon.

Usually there are two of us, but very occasionally my adult daughter might want to join us if acceptable. We reply to all offers.

As one of our family has moderate asthma and allergies we need to swap with families who do not smoke and who are willing to use low allergen chemicals for cleaning and washing during the swap. Please don't worry about this - we have done many swaps successfully! We also need a home with a bath please.

There is a train station ten minutes walk away and trains all along the North Wales coast. There are buses along the coast and inland. It is two and three quarter hours by direct train to London. You can also go directly to Shrewsbury, Chester, Birmingham and Cardiff by train.

We have an extended bungalow with two floors including a lounge, dining room, a kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious garden with seats.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

We live in a small town and our house is at the back of the town, next to a wooded hill. We live in a quiet road and it is five minutes walk to the town. There are about 15 cafes, three chemists, a butcher, two newsagents, two banks, two Post Offices and other shops in the main street. There is also a shopping mall with a Marks and Spencers including a food section, and a large Tesco supermarket, a Boots chemist, Costa and poundland as well as clothes shops. There is a sandy beach and a four mile walkway to Rhyl. There is a coast path around the whole of Wales great for walking or cycling.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

We live by the seaside and have a walking and cycling path along the sea throughout Wales. There is a huge sandy beach for five miles along the sea and
wonderful walking towards Talacre with a bird reserve and a lighthouse. We have countryside pubs and hills for hiking in the Vale of Clwyd, Flintshire and
Snowdonia where there is a mountain to climb or go up by train. Lovely towns include Llandudno with its Victorian seafront and the Great Orme to go up by car, cable car or tram and good views of the coast. Also historic Conwy with two historic houses to visit including Plas Mawr which dates back to the 16th century.
Conwy also has town walls, a castle, the estuary with boats, and cafes. There is easy access to the city of Chester with black and white houses, Roman city walls and a lovely riverside. Also to Liverpool with the Beatles Museum and day trips on the River Mersey, and Manchester with Manchester United football club, and free museums. All the cities have good shopping, restaurants, and attractions.
