Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Spacious family home not far from the centre of the seaside town of Penzance. Very close to sandy beaches, great restaurants, cosy pubs and the amazing natural beauty of west Cornwall. We're sure you'll love staying in our house and we also have a peaceful woodland nearby where you can camp. The area is well known for its surf scene, its walking opportunities and its great sense of community.

Our house is a sturdy Victorian terrace with three bedrooms, a study, a basement and a spacious back yard. From the top floor you have views out over the sea to St Michael's Mount. It is a two-minute walk to the shops, pubs and cafes of Penzance, and the Penwith peninsula beyond is an ancient landscape full of captivating beauty.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

The house is one of a row of Victorian terrace houses close to the centre of the town. Tolver Road is usually quiet and benefits from traffic calming. Local amenities are only a few minutes' walk away, including good pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants. Penzance itself is an historic port town famous in times gone by for its pirates. There are beaches, a fabulous art deco open-air swimming pool, pubs and restaurants of character, beautiful sub-tropical parks and many artists' studios. Penzance is also the gateway to the Penwith peninsula, with its cosy fishing villages, dramatic coastline and great walking opportunities.

Attractions

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

Penzance and the Penwith peninsula is a popular destination and as such it has a wealth of attractions, both cultural and natural. From amazing beaches (some popular, some secret), cosy fishing villages, great pubs and restaurants, stately homes and gardens and superb walking routes, there is something for everybody. Kids will love the nearby Flambards amusement park, and a trip down a historic tin mine is something you won't forget. The area is rich in culture and history and there is a laid-back atmosphere to this end of Cornwall. Restaurants offer local fish dishes and there are numerous local beers and ciders on offer (there is even a vineyard in Penzance). We will provide you with a comprehensive guide to our local recommendations, and we also own a small and secluded forest nearby in which you can camp.
