Hello. My name is Susan, my other half is called Andrew and we have two grown up boys, Jonathan and Gavin. Andrew and I are self employed and live in Edinburgh's city centre. We both run a property business which keeps us busy and last year, I published my first book - the second and third are coming out any day now ... well ... when I get 'round to double checking the deadlines. We bought our beloved wee haven in North Middleton just last year and it has brought us great peace. For us, it represents relaxation - mainly focused around the garden! Occasionally, we plan to travel as a family but the boys are at an age now where travelling in a family group is decidedly uncool, so for most of the swaps, it will just be the two of us looking for a place to lay our heads. :-)

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Use the Borders Railway to get into Waverley Station, in central Edinburgh. Park the car at Gorebridge Station and enjoy the ride. Waverley is at the foot of Edinburgh's Old Town and is right in the centre of the city. From the cottage (as we call it), there are walks through countryside, to country houses, castles, drives to chapels, country parks ... so much to do ... Borthwick Castle is a favourite place of ours ... Rosslyn Chapel is just breathtaking ... Vogrie Country Park ...
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We're not much for rules. The only thing we'd ask is not to smoke inside the house. If it's a bit dry during summer, we'd ask you to give the plants some water. Oh ... and our back garden is a haven for wildlife and wild birds so we'll leave some bird food - perhaps you'd be good enough to top up the bird feeders from time to time?
