We are a recently retired couple in our late 50s from the UK. Looking for a 1/3 month trip to Melbourne, Australia to visit our son who has recently moved there. Our eldest son (early 30s) and his girlfriend might also join us for 2 weeks if it can be arranged. We are non smokers. We will look after your home as if it were our own. We have home exchanged before with Homelink to Belgium, Holland, USA and Canada very successfully but our last one was around 18 years ago. Now we are retired we would love to start again.

Semi detached house in the lovely village of Great Bookham in the Surrey Hills. An area of outstanding natural beauty. Recently redecorated throughout. Clean and tidy house. Attractive large and sunny garden with wooden deck, complete with garden furniture. Quiet location. Friendly neighbours. Family bathroom, including walk in shower upstairs and another toilet downstairs. Fully fitted kitchen. Smart TV with Sky TV and Netflix. Lounge/dining room overlooking the garden with sunny conservatory attached.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Located in the lovely village of Great Bookham in the Surrey Hills. Quaint high street with many shops including baker, butcher, fishmonger, green grocer, hardware shop, sweet shop, small supermarket etc plus several local cafes/coffee shops and pubs. Village indoor market held every Friday in the community Barn Hall which also turns into a cinema several times a year. Two churches are in the village as well. Quiet location but only 45 minutes by train into Central London. Half an hour drive from both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Leatherhead featured in the Olympics Cycle Ride from Box Hill into London. Only an hour from the south coast including the seaside town of Brighton. The film ‘The Holiday’ with Kate Winslet was shot within 20 minutes of our house in the quintessential English village of Shere. Beautiful surrounding countryside but also within short driving distance/bus/train of the bustling towns of Guildford and Kingston upon Thames. Hampton Court Palace home of King Henry VIII half hour’s drive away. Windsor Castle 40 mins drive away where the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle took place and home to the Queen.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Central London is a 45 minute train journey away. Train goes direct into London Waterloo. Half an hour walk or short drive to the National Trust house of Polesden Lacey with it’s beautiful gardens and cafes. Several other National Trust properties nearby too. Denbies Vineyard is well worth a visit which includes a tour together with wine tasting as is a tour of the gin distillery - Silent Pool, a 25 minute drive from the house. Bocketts Farm half hour walk away. RHS Garden Wisley 15 mins drive. Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures, both half hour drive away. Brooklands Car Museum. Richmond upon Thames is a lovely town along the River Thames. Leatherhead has it’s own theatre and cinema. Many pubs in the surrounding area are well worth a visit as well. Hampton Court Palace home of King Henry VIII half hour drive away and Windsor Castle 40 mins drive away.
