Description of the home we are offering for exchange
A 200m2 stone built 1930 traditional home, on the outskirts of Edinburgh with views overlooking the sea. Close to the pituresque harbour of Musselburgh, with beautiful walks along the coat. Close to the oldest golf course in the world, Musseelburgh Links, and also Musselburgh racecourse (horse racing). The river Esk, salmon river is within a close walk, whilst just to the South of the property is the walled estate of Newhailes House, a Georgia Mansion with beautiful grounds for walking.
The house is home to me (architect) my wife (primary school teacher) and three daughters 7, 11, 13. The property has a large extension to the rear, large open plan kitchen/ dining/living area over three levels, with real wood fire and surround sound home entertainment systems installed. Beyond the living area is a studio space, mainly used by the kids for Wii, movies games etc and a fold down double sofa bed. Large garden to rear.
4 Bedrooms, modern kitchen, and cosy living room to south elevation.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Friendly, quiet street with very nice neighbours, close to beach and harbour.
Lots of walks nearby. With good bus links directly into the centre of Edinburgh. Or alternatively drive South to access the beautiful East Lothian countryside, particularly good for golf enthusiasts, or keen walkers, castles and clifftop walks all within 30 minutes drive.
We are also members of the nearby FYC yacht club if you are interested in dingy sailing.
IA short bus ride or drive to Historic Edinburgh, 'the Athens of the North', full of fantastic cultural heritage as well as brilliant nightlife. Regularly voted one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Edinburgh Castle is Scotlands number 1 tourist destination. You must also visit the beatiful Botantical gardens and Edinburgh Zoo is great for the kids - go and see the pandas. The National Scottish museum is a great day out, or visit the recently constructed Scottish Parliament building for an organised tour. Or why not a ghost tour of the old town.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house it is a short walk East to the beautiful musselburgh beach (5 minutes) and river esk (salmon fishing possible) (15 minutes). Walk a little further West of the house and you will arrive at the promenade of historic Portobello, with beachside cafes and bars, fish and chip shops and also amusements. There is also a fantastic brand new large soft play indoor area for the kids at Portobello if you have little ones, if they are bored of the beach.
A ten minute bus journey to the South of our home takes you to the shopping mall at New Craighall, with a good selection of quality shops many eating out options and also a brand new multiplex Cinema complex.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We have a large old ginger cat (toby) who will need to be fed twice a day. Generally he just keeps to himself going in and out of the cat flap and lazing on the floor. We wouldn't want other pets in the house with Toby.
